Servant of Allah
:salam2: dear brothers and sisters i want you to clarify for me exactly what kind of music is haram. although i know there is only one type of drum allowed, there are people who think that i'm just labeling things haram when they're not. firstly my question is what is percussion( some type of musical instruments, but are they the ones that muhammad pbuh said we can use?), secondly the reason why i'm askin is because i sent an email to the agent of native deen brothers, i told him to advice the brothers of how music is haram and that they should use their voice or only the particular one that has been described. he responded saying that he was grateful for my advice but that i shouldn't make opinions and that i shouldn't label someting haram when it is isn't (in this case the music i heard on the native deen bros. videos.), he said that he knows music is haram but the ones that the native deen brothers were using was not because he said they had asked many scholars from kuwait, egypt saudi arabia and so on. he said that the native deen's music has influenced the youth to become better muslims and that it helped them so that it wasn't haram. he said the native deen bros are good muslims who attend the masjid ( i never said they were bad, i love them just not the music). so i want to be able to show him how it is haram. he said there music is percussion, but the videos i listened to all have musical instruments, you can hear the metals, that's not the drum described by muhammad s. a. w., so brothers and sisters help me out. asalamu alaykum.
