How do you deal with negative Islamic PR in the news? People really feel that all Muslims are bad, especially my family. I live with my non-Muslim father and sometimes he brings up the topic but I try to avoid it when possible.
In Shaa Allah everything will be fine for you, I think that you must feel sorry for these people because they did not feel the taste of islam.
And for your father , pray for him that Allah shows him the right path.
