MWL Wants Lawsuits for Abuse of Islam and the Prophet

P K Abdul Ghafour, Arab News

JEDDAH, 28 December 2006 - A two-day conference organized by the
Makkah-based Muslim World League yesterday called for a consultative
commission in order to take legal action against those who abuse Islam
and its Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and Islamic sanctities, at
local and international courts of justice, the Saudi Press Agency said.

The conference titled "In Defense of the Prophet" called upon Islamic
countries and governments to stand united to defend the Islamic faith
and its Prophet. It denounced the smear campaigns to tarnish the image
of the Prophet and urged Muslims to make all-out efforts to project the
true picture of Islam and the great divine teachings of the Prophet.

Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Asheikh, who presided over the
conference, called upon Muslims to follow the Prophet's teachings.

"Our enemies are exploiting Muslims' weak adherence to the Prophet's
Sunnah," said Al-Asheikh. "We should not be ashamed of implementing his
Sunnah. On the other hand, all Muslims must observe his teachings in all
walks of their life."

MWL Secretary-General Abdullah Al-Turki said the attack on the Prophet
was an expression of enmity toward Islam.

"The whole Muslim Ummah, including its leadership, scholars and ordinary
people was outraged by such attacks and this again shows the lofty
position the Prophet has in their hearts," he said in reference to the
Muslim response to cartoons depicting the Prophet.

MWL plans to launch an international program to introduce the Prophet
and the conference called for setting up a fund to support the program.
"The anti-Islam campaign also intends to trigger a cultural conflict
between the Islamic world and the West and create a situation of clash
and conflict in place of dialogue and peaceful coexistence," the MWL
chief said.

Al-Turki called upon Western countries to protect human rights of Muslim
communities and take action against those who create unnecessary fear
about Islam by linking it with terrorism and violence.

"The creation of such fears will lead to violating human rights of
Muslims and threats to their freedom and security," he said. "It will
also have other long-term negative impacts."

we need some kind of law

if u stand against the policies of your countery u considered trator or may b patriotic act will get u in jail, talk about women or have clear opinion u get labeled as sexest, have clear opinion about jews its not freedom of speach but with there strong investment & with help of media any honest talk about them consider anti sametism.
so why all muslim countries with great in numbers, have great infulence in united nation, have money, have vote & numbers r still fail to pass a law where some one insult or show bias opinion or show disrespectful freedom of speach against them,we still protest, burn & destroy our own properties but cannot come up with law like anti sematism,i mean when some one say some ignorent or bad mouth just call him anti islamitic or some thing so that opinionated freedom of speach could b bit careful hurting our feeling next time. not sure did i convince anyone here?

Assalamu alaykum,

This is very good, but...

What about the People who do Shirk and Bidah in our Muslim countries?

What about those peolpe who call themselves Muslims and curse our Prophet and his Companions? Or those who disregard the Quran and Hadith and follow their desires? Why is it the Ahlul Bidah do not make people upset?

There needs to be an initiative to tackle that too.

I guess there are just 5% to 10% of muslims in the world who curse to our Prophet.

hence we should not count them at all

What?! Who curses the Prophet PBUH, yet remains a Muslim..? I'm confused. How can anyone possibly curse the Prophet PBUH? What I mean is, what sort of things would they even have to say?

Are we talking about Shiites again here..?

::is confused::

But yes, this is an excellent thing. I didn't even know a "Muslim World League" existed; they sure haven't been exercising much leverage or political debates to offset some of the horrific things said/done against Islam. Are they going to sue Pope Benny, I wonder? ;D That'd make me smile. There're plenty of others that need legal action taken against them, I'm sure we all can think of a few...

Those Muslims who curse our prophet and who are they?

:salam2:

I was about to create a new thread for displaying information about those Muslims who curse our prophet and who are they?

But then I stopped. I felt, it will mark a negative impression on those who reverted to Islam recently and they dont have much knowledge about Islam ( in this website TurntoIslam)

To know about those Muslims click here
