My family originally thought that we were Chippewa or Ojibway....but after extensive research by my mother we found out that we were actually Mohawk......

Do you know if the speaker is talking about Delaware as in Delaware, Ohio? Today as we are driving by Delaware i see a sign that says Delaware River so i was wondering if he meant that.
