I am a young girl who needs help. I have studied Islam for a couple of years now, and am now at the point where I can't hide who i really am..a muslim. But my parents won't allow me to convert and will kick me out if i do, i have nowhere else to go. My plans were to convert when i leave for uni but that is two years away, anything could happen to me in that time thats why i need help..how do i tell them and make them see? Jazakallah for listening. :tti_sister:

Welcome to TTI first and what i would advice you is first to take the the shahada yourself and then look for a Mosque near where you live.
You don't have to tell your parents now.

take a shower and say these words.

ur stuation is similar to the birth of islam. when it was weak it was kept secret, due to the blessing of allah islam grew so strong that it was not weak any more. so that is an example that i can think of to give u. anyway welcome to islam and T.T.I.

hmm sister I'm really sorry your in this situation. If you convert now and don't tell you parents you obviously won't be able to fast, pray (while they are around) or wear hijab(which shows you are a Muslim and people will look down on you). Islam demands you respect your parents....but only if they aren't against Allah (SWT) or the Prophets (PBUT). Sister I agree go to the mosque and speak to sisters there. Also do you have any Muslim friends, maybe they can help, inshAllah you can live with one of them if your parents kick you out. Another idea might to be to see a counsellor with your family and tell them like that and you could work things out from there. It's very important we keep relations with our family strong inshAllah

Alhamdulila being A muslim sis

Welcome frist of all on TTI, I believe sis the second step you have to do is to declare the Shahada, u have to declare those simple words that will make you make a transaction with the Almighty, and will be the best moments of your entire Life I belive strongly.

Salam sister,
You might want to think of creative ways to keep it a secret, like, wearing a lot of loose clothings to hide your aurah (someone suggested this, a revert)...
Pray when nobody would notice... In times of secrecy, urgency, or emergency, praying could be simple and brief... Allah doesn't burden the ummah with any hardship under such situations...
InsyaAllah, you are creative enough to beat this...
More to this, you may want to start preaching in a subtle way, on how those artists are wearing dress that are not really a dress, showing their meat and stuff, and the fact that some lifestyle could be dangerous to the majority of the people, or the value of money and how we spend them to contribute to the society...
Have some initiatives to do good deeds and solidify our faith when confronting evil doers or messed up cultures...
Your parents will start thinking that their daughter is changing for the better, before they even know that Islam has helped you realize this strength of yours...
Islam teaches us to be brave, but smart, and humble...
Use these three traits to change your inner strength, and insyaAllah your parents will see the truth, without knowing that Allah Subhanahuwataala is your cause...
AlhamdulIllah
Allahuakbar

Salaamalikum,

Well you technically can't hide being a Muslim all your life. Our actions, mentality, and physical appearance all play a vital role as Muslims. You will probably have to tell them down the road or they will notice it themselves.

Go to both masjids and check them out yourself and let us know your experiences in both.
