I hope you all are in good health Insha Allah.

I have been working at UPS for the last 4 months and during Ramadan a co worker came up to me and asked me about my beard and why I did not trim it. I told him it was for religious reasons. Thats when he told me he was fasting for "Ramadeen" and had been going to a big masjid in my area to learn about islam. I invited him to make salat with me that day and since then we have had a great friendship at work. I have been over to his house once to give him dawah but I am worried about where he is headed.

He is currently dating an arab who's father is a non practicing shia and whose mother was christian. The girl herself does not ascribe herself to any religion but believes in God. He has been asking me questions that are too advanced for him right now and one of those questions was the difference between sunni and shia. I tried to tell him it was complicated and the shia are apon bida but he does not seem to remember and now he is asking me if there are any shia masjids around. I live near dearborne michigan so there are lots of shias around. what should i do next? any advice dear brothers and sisters? Jazakullah Khair

dont make shirk like most of shia do using karbala mud beat themselves and the shirks etc. while in dawaa tell that person tell him the 5 arkan simply and tell him about the sunni only and when he will know completely about us he can differentiate easily u have to realy think 4about a person who go with shirk from this world

What makes a Muslim a Muslim is this simple statement:

An La Ilaha IllAllahu. Muhammad Rasulallah.

There is no god but Allah. Muhammad is His messenger.

Shi'ites proclaim this, and they truly believe it. I'm certain that Allah would rather have a Shi'a Muslim brother than no Muslim brother.

So, even if he (your friend) refuses to be a Sunni and would rather be a Shi'ite, make sure he takes the Shahadah. That's all, and Allah(if He is willing) will lead him (your friend) from there.

basics of isalm

allah guides whom he willmhidaya is in the nads of allah brother,i came across one of my coworker, happen to b african american, gave him dawah according to my knowledge, allah put some thing in his mind & he accepted islam,in first 2 jummah he went with me to the masjid which is very diverse so according to my knowledge it was good 4 him to know all types of muslims from all over the world, but he suddenly stops going to jummah with me to masjid i like to go & start going to the masjid of african american masjid which belongs to nation of islam,i went there one time to have jummah with him togather & insted of learning quran, hadith, life of sahabah ,i found my self learning about malcom-x on kutabah of jummah so i decide not to go again, now thats what i assume or decide with my limited knowledge, but allah knows the best, way i think allah guide him towards islam & he will guide him again on right track even if he goes some where, which does not seem like a place of learning.
so don't b scared about him just clear him basics of isalm, main 5 pillers of islam, give him more dawah about laillahillallahmuhammadurassolallah, after that make duah & leave on him, your job is done, allah guides whom he wills, shias r wrong or sunnis r right allah knows the best, thats some thing only a real alim can decide,at the end we all need the mercy of allah, may allah guide all of us to right track

Assalam Alaykum..

if he ask u about shia tell him..
there is many ppls under cover islam but they didn't Practice the teachings of Islam..

“ ‘they (think to) deceive Allaah and those who believe while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not!” [al-Baqarah 2:9 – interpretation of the meaning]

Ibn Katheer said in his tafseer of this aayah:

“ ‘they (think to) deceive Allaah and those who believe’
[al-Baqarah 2:9 – interpretation of the meaning]

means, by their making an outward show of faith whilst inwardly they conceal kufr. They think in their ignorance that they can deceive Allaah in this way, and that this will benefit them with Him. They think that they can fool Him as they fooled some of the believers,
as Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“On the Day when Allaah will resurrect them all together (for their account); then they will swear to Him as they swear to you (O Muslims). And they think that they have something (to stand upon). Verily, they are liars!”
[al-Mujaadilah 58:18]

Hence Allaah responds to their belief by saying (interpretation of the meaning):
“while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not!”
[al-Baqarah 2:9]
i.e., they are not deceiving anyone by their actions but themselves, but they do not perceive that in themselves.
This is like the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):
“Verily, the hypocrites seek to deceive Allaah, but it is He Who deceives them”
[al-Nisaa’ 4:142]

give advise to this man/woman who wants to learn about Islam to be fair-minded and free from whims and desires. He/she should beware of the ways in which the enemies of Islam try to distort Islam. He/she should strive to learn about Islam from its pure sources see: The Aqeedah of Ahlis-Sunnah wal Jamaa'ah and not from the sects who give a bad image of Islam by their bid’ah and innovations, like the Qadiaanis (Ahmadis), Shi’ah and Sufis, etc. These groups have distorted the message of Islam with their innovations, so he/she should not regard their actions and words as being Islam. We ask Allaah to guide him/her.
