need some help please

Assalamu alaykum,

Anyone who has prayed istikhara, how do u know that Allah has made u make that choice without being given a sign or dream? How do u know that what you've chosen is from Allah and not ur own choice after praying istikhara? Does this make sense?

I prayed istikhara last night after isha salah and again today after maghrib and I'm still confused about a certain matter u see, I haven't really recieved any guidance about the matter yet. How long does it take to recieve an answer or is it different for everybody in every situation?

Never stop praying Istighara, that's one. Second, don't worry, you prayed a special salat only to ask for Allah sw guidance, do you then think that He sw will misguide you?

For me this is how it works: I am confused about a matter, I make a choice regarding that matter, THEN i pray salatul istighara and ask Allah sw guidance on my choice. I pray that salatul istighara as many times as I can.. then I just go along with my plan, that is the choice I made before praying. I look out for signs such as am I at peace, is everything going smoothly, is there any chance what I'm doing may be haram etc etc. Hope that helps and remember to seek help in patience and prayer just like the brother said before me.

Assalamu alaykum.

How I've been told is that there is NO special signs you really get after making istikhaarah. What one should do is make it, then go to whichever direction of the decision one formerlly had an inclination to. If that direction is not meant for you, then you may encounter many difficulties, or it wont work out, or however much you try, it still does not occur.

Then you have to realize that this was not what it was meant to be, and Allah is the best of Planners.
