Obama's pastor, hurt him?

I have been following this deal with Obama's pastor who comes off sounding racist and "un-American", but you know what he has valid points. He speaks for those who haven't been able to speak for themselves. What do you think? Do you think it will hurt Obama's campaign? Watch below....it didn't change my mind about him at all. And how can people take what this man says and make it about Obama?

I dont know much about American internal politics and its presidential campaign and who is who, but what i have just seen on this short clip is true.

America has treated its own people (blacks and mexicans) as second class and the example of New Orleans is not forgotton yet.

Hiroshema, Nagasaki, South Africa, Iraq, Afghanistan...are all living examples.

America needs a president who can think of peace and not wars.

That was just OVER funny! I luved the hilarious song too. Personally, if I had a choice, and if I knew better before, I would've made dua for Ron Paul to win the Primary and the elections. He's an anti-war kind of man and he thinks about using peace to solve America's problem.

Salam alaykum.

they all speak during the campaign but then they all break their promises.

politics is a game and it needs skills to reach the victory.

a good example : sarkozy, his party failed in the last week elections.

the train on the same way but they only change the driver.

Returning to the question of the post, do you think his former pastor's rhetoric will hurt Obama in his bid for president? No one has given an opinion on this ...

Salaam,

Honestly it looks like the media is trying to make a tempest in a teacup. No one seems to really care what Obama's pastor thinks, at least not the anecdotal point of views I have received. This looks like a desperate attempt from the Republican party to find something to criticize about Obama. They couldn't find anything wrong with his immediate circle so they are reaching at this point.

Salaam,

It's ridiculous how far the media and politicians go. They always try to defame people and their background. Like the brother said, America makes it seem like it's a crime to be a Muslim. Who knows, someone could of paid the Pastor to say those things. Come on people, it doesn't take much when you offer a little moo la to someone.

I didn't hear anything in the clip that the pastor said that wasn't true to be honest. It's just that the uppity whites and republicans don't want to hear it. I am white and I see his words as hard to swallow but FRANK!

indeed its funny how saying you come from a muslim fam or saying you are a muslim..actually has a bad effect in america especially if you are running for president.

we shouldnt be scared to admit it..because we have nothing to hide..our religion is the cure for this worlds chaos en disease!

Whether or not he has valid points (I think he has some) doesn't matter - OF COURSE it will look bad for Obama. BUT, thanks to him, Obama gave an absolutely fantastic speech on race which was truly wonderful so maybe it all helped him in the long run.
