Occupiers uproot olive trees in West Bank

RAMALLAH: Jewish occupiers on Monday uprooted 250 olive trees in the West Bank villages of Kosra and Jaloud, near Nablus.

Ghassan Daghlas, the Palestinian Authority official monitoring settler activity in the northern West Bank, said that occupiers from nearby settlement of Shvut Rachel arrived at the groves on early Tuesday and uprooted the trees.

Daghlas added that the trees belong to Palestinian farmer Ali Abdulhamid Hassan.

Meanwhile, Palestinian sources said that 10-year-old Einas Main Ka’kour sustained several kinds of wounds after occupiers attacked her in the Tel Romaida area in West Bank city of Hebron.

The sources said that Ka’kour was evacuated to the Al-Ahli governmental hospital in Hebron for treatment.

In recent months Jewish occupiers have increased their acts of harassment against Palestinians in the West Bank as a “price tag” for the decision of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last November that a 10-month partial moratorium on new housing starts in the West Bank settlements. Netanyahu said the move was in a bid to revive the peace talks with the Palestinians.
