Odd Dreams

Assalaamu Alaykum
There have been odd reports of dreams from myself and my imediate family (just one member) since I've became a Muslim.

I know that dreams are either from a shaytaan or from Allah (SWT). Can anyone tell me from whom these dreams come from? JazakAllahu Khair!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

My dream - In this dream, I was looking at myself from a third-person view (rare in my dreams, but it has happened before).

I dreamt that, less than a month after I became Muslim, I was inside praying salat while everyone outside was having fun (I.E. playing around and such). I'm not sure, but I think I looked outside and longed for their fun, and then continued salat.

I was dressed in the stereotypical male Islamic clothing. I remember that one kid who is a Muslim (in my school) was outside and completely ignoring salat.

From thinking hard about this, a light turned on (I'm not sure from where, but it was inside) and it then started to rain outside. That's all I can remember.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

My father's dream - This one is perplexing to me. Recently (early January 2007), my father had a dream that my brother and I were driving around. My brother then got into a car accident. My father came up and saw it. He tried to save us, but my brother had died already. He kept trying to pull me out but he said that he couldn't get me. I was stuck, I'm guessing.

Where was my mother? Nowhere near. My father's dream I guess never concluded (as in, I'm not sure if he saved me or not). According to my father (and these are his words), my mother was "in the ground".

-------------------------------------------------------------------

This reminds me of my mother's dream a long time ago (before I reverted to Islam). I'll share it (Insha'Allah):

My mother's dream - My mother, my aunts (my 2 aunts whom my mother and I communicate with most often), and myself were walking and we found this giant slide ("slide" as in the slides you may see in a children's playpark). We all slid down the slide and afterwards, we continued our walk. As we walked, my mother felt my head (for some reason) and noticed that I was bleeding from my head.

She took me to the hospital and I got stiches. This is all she could remember.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Who the heck did these dreams come from (Allah (SWT) or a shaytaan)? JazakAllahu Khair once again!

Assalamu Alaykum,

We cant tell you what your dreams mean!! And there are a few Dreams which can be accurately explained, and that is done by REAL Scholars who follow the Quran and Sunnah and not those weirdo ahlul bidah / Shirky types! And that is done by following the Hadith and the books that were written in the past. i.e. with purely Islamic understanding. -

Anyway, Good dreams are from Allah, they are for you to share and to learn from. For example, you dream you go Hajj, etc.

Bad Dreams are from Shaytan, you should not tell people them or share them. They are to make you afraid, uncertain and forget Allah. You must seek refuge in Allah from the Shaytan, and remember Allah and hold firm to your faith.

Other strange dreams are not necessarily of any meaning. i.e. you dream of a ufo or maybe meeting B.A Barackas from the A-Team ... (yes, I know someone who dreamt that, lol) Rather these just from persons own minds.

If someone really wants to have better understanding of coping with these mattes, then they must learn Islam properly, from the Perfect words of Allah which he revealed with in the Qur'an and the sunnah of his beloved Messenger Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

And remember we must be patient and Allah is the most merciful and to him we must turn to.

Listen, I think it is best I close this topic because it is not for people to be commenting on meanings of dreams from the top of their heads. Im sorry about that, but Im sure you dont want a whole string of weird people replying to what your dreams mean.

Wasalam.
