Inshallah this post finds all my brothers and sisters at TTI in good health and Iman!
I read something online (maybe it was even on this forum Im not sure) that in some cultures the new husband is advised to beat his new bride on their wedding night thus showing her who is in charge right from the start. That night as I lay beside my new husband (we have been married almost 3 weeks now and no he didnt beat me on our wedding night alhamdulillah lol) I told him about what I read and asked if he ever heard of such a thing. In response to my question he told me a story which I would like to share with you now.
There were 2 couples recently married and the husbands were friends with each other. In the first couple the husband was so kind and adoring to his wife and treated her like a queen however she was always finding things to complain about and never greeted her husband with a smile or tried to find ways to please him. This confused him but he thought if he tried his best to be even nicer to her she would finally warm up towards him and they could live a happy and peaceful life together.
One night the husband of the second couple invited the husband of the first couple to dinner at his home. As the first husband sat in the home of the second couple he noticed that the second husband treated his wife much the same way his own wife had been treating him such as barking orders at her and basically being really rude towards her. He also noticed that the reaction by his wife was nothing short of pleasant and kind no matter how rude her husband was towards her. He found this situation very interesting so later that evening after dinner the 2 men went outside and he decided to ask his friend how he managed to get his wife to respect him in such a way that even if he treated her roughly she was always pleasant towards him.
The second husband answered his friend by telling him that on their wedding night he took his new bride to the matrimonial home and just as they were about to settle in he noticed a cat passing by "meow" and he suddenly grabbed the cat up by its tail and swung it around then let it go until it hit up against the wall killing it. He told his friend that when his new bride witnessed this act for no apparent reason she was horrified to say the least and from that time on she was fearful of her husband to the point that she did everything in her power so as not to anger him.
The first husband thought about what his friend said and wishing for his own wife to respect him in the same way that his friends wife respected her husband he devised a plan. By the time he got home his plan was ready to be put into action. He walked into the house to find his wife her usual unpleasant self and instead of responding to her with kindness he forced himself to have a scowl on his face. When she was about to ask him what had gotten into him he spotted a cat walking by the house and as he reached down to grab it by its tail his wife yelled at him "LEAVE THAT CAT ALONE!!!!! ITS TOO LATE NOW!!!!! YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT ON THE NIGHT WE GOT MARRIED!!!!!"
I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes. That is the cutest story!!! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. By the way I wasnt too happy that the first cat had to die either!!!!
