Different Opinions about Yazed

Zakir Naik was few years back asked about the battle of Karbala and about Yazed. He replied that there is difference of opinion amongst the sahabas (for which he has been criticised as well). What are those different opinions about Yazed?

However I was not asking about Dr Zakir Naik praising Yazed, but about the different opinions about Yazed or is there only one opinion and if yes what is that?
