MUSLiiM PRiiNCESS
:salam2: Brothers & Sisters,
Are Muslim Women Oppressed ?
"O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness - that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember" Surat Al-A`rÄf 7:26
Muslim women and Muslim men both, are commanded to cover their private parts as an act of modesty. Covering your hair, bosoms, neck and ears are for women. Just to point that Muslim women cover their hair not their brain so they aren't any different to other women just because they wear a hijab.
What Does The Prophet Muhammad (saw) Say About Women In Islam
"If women comply with your commands, do not molest them listen carefully, they have a right over you that you take care of their food and wear." (Ibn-e-Majh, Vol. 1, p 519)
Prophet said, ''The woman whose husband remains happy at night, and every night, she will be admitted into paradise.'' (Tirmzi, Vol.) 1, p 4 28)
Narrated by Abu Hurairah : A man came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Who is more entitled to be treated with the best companionship by me?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man said. "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man further said, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your mother." The man asked for the fourth time, "Who is next?" The Prophet said, "Your father.
Muslim Man's Responsibility Towards His Wife
Islam teaches Men to be a sheild that protects the wife, a support that she can always gain when she is down, a provider when she is in need, a partner and a best friend to help her through the journey of
life
Women in Islam are given so much respect ... The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said in his last sermon : O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah's trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers.
Imagine you found a real diamond .. just lying there ... Would you let everyone see it or get their hands on it? No ! you'd want it be safe so you would keep it somewhere safe, out of everyone's eyes.
Just like that Muslim men want to keep their pearl (wife) safe and keep away from others. So covering is a blockage for a Muslim women from the world and a way of being devoted to Allah's commandments which (inshallah) she will be rewarded for.
Instead of asking non- Muslims about how Muslim women feel, talk to a Muslim woman herself... Ask her if she feels oppressed under those clothes or does she feel safe and respected ...
Stop being judgemental and disrespectful because Muslim men or Islam doesn't oppress Muslim women, it's ignorant comments made towards them that oppresses them.
If a woman has the rights to show her body, then why doesn't she have the rights to cover it?
Hope This Has Helped
Jazakallah
Woman was made from the rib of man,
she was not created from his head to top him,
nor from his feet to be stepped upon.
She was made from his side to be close to him,
From beneath his arm to be protected by him,
Near his heart to be loved by him.
