GAZA, (PIC)-- An eight-year-old Palestinian child died on Saturday night of serious wounds suffered in an Israeli air raid on northern Gaza Strip late last week.

Dr. Ashraf al-Qudra, the health ministry spokesman, told the PIC reporter that Ali al-Awur, 8, suffered critical injuries in the raid that killed his uncle Mohammed Awur last Wednesday.

Israeli warplanes blasted a motorbike that was driven by Awur, 33, in northern Gaza and wounded Ali, who was accompanying him. Two other passersby were injured in the raid.

NABLUS, (PIC)-- A horde of Israeli settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles on Friday evening and Saturday morning on the passageways between Nablus and Ramallah, while another Israeli mob tried to kidnap a Palestinian child in al-Khalil.

A group of extremist settlers stationed at the main crossroads between Nablus and Ramallah, including the Yitzhar, Zaatara, and Eli crossroads, and hurled stones at Palestinian vehicles, eye-witnesses told a PIC correspondent.

The windshields of more than 15 cars were smashed in the process.

In a related event, another mob of frenzied settlers attempted to kidnap a Palestinian child in Susia, east of Yatta, in the West Bank province of al-Khalil on Saturday.

“The settlers kept chasing my son Bashar along a distance of 50 meters in an attempt to snatch him,” the child’s father told a PIC correspondent.

As the Israeli occupation forces came by, the Palestinian natives were forced out of the spot, the father added.

A state of remarkable anxiety overwhelmed the natives for fear of other projected sadistic assaults to be launched by the Israeli settlers.

GAZA, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation army on Saturday night launched a spate of air raids on different targets in the Gaza Strip.

Local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that Israeli warplanes waged three aerial attacks on resistance sites in Rafah.

One of the bombed sites belongs to Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, and the other two belong to the popular resistance committees and Al-Quds Brigades of Islamic Jihad. No casualties have been reported.

The air raids also targeted another site belonging to Al-Qassam Brigades to the west of Khan Younis district before bombing another resistance site in Hittin area in the north.

The Palestinian interior ministry affirmed that several resistance sites were bombed in Israeli airstrikes in different areas of north Gaza.

Later, another airstrike occurred in an empty field near Zawayda area in central Gaza.

The health ministry in Gaza reported that a 15-year-old girl and a 27-year-old woman suffered minor shrapnel injuries during an air raid in Rafah district. Both of the wounded civilians were admitted to Abu Yousuf Annajjar hospital.

Spokesman for the Israeli premier Ofir Gendelman said that the Israeli air forces had bombed six targets in Gaza in retaliation to Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli settlements near Gaza.

For its part, the Palestinian interior ministry held the Israeli occupation regime fully responsible for the current escalation in Gaza and appealed to the international community to curb its aggression.

Al-KHALIL, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Sunday stormed different areas of Al-Khalil province, as part of a widespread security campaign that started three days ago to scour the West Bank for three Jewish settlers believed to be kidnapped.

Eyewitnesses told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that dozens of Israeli troops invaded the villages of Beit Awwa and Deir Samit to the west of Al-Khalil and embarked on searching homes using police dogs.

Three Palestinian ex-detainees identified as Subhi Masalema, Mahmoud Issa, and Samir Masalema were taken prisoners during the campaign in the villages.

Earlier on Saturday night, the IOF kidnapped a citizen named Murad Masalema at a military checkpoint near Bethlehem.

A large number of Israeli soldiers also raided homes in other areas of Al-Khalil, including Khalat Hadour, Hawouz, Assalam street, Ras Al-Jura, Halhoul, Akabat Tafouh and Aroub refugee camp, according to local sources.

The Israeli raids in Al-Khalil took place amid intensive military overflights.

The IOF soldiers also intensified their security measures in Al-Khalil, deployed more roadblocks throughout the city and its surrounding areas, and turned the city into a closed military zone.

In earlier incidents, the IOF ransacked many homes in Yatta and Dura towns, south of Al-Khalil, with no reported arrests.

Violent clashes between young men and Israeli soldiers took place yesterday in Kanar and Senjer areas between Al-Khalil city and Dura town.

The Israeli occupation army also declared that all residents of Al-Khalil province would be banned from traveling outside their residential areas until the completion of all search operations.
