I love animals, and I think this is so cute masha allah. This parrot can recite Al Fatiah pretty well. Of course a person TAUGHT this parrot how to say it, but its still very amazing to me. Allah subhana wa ta ala has made such interesting creations :allahuakbar:

I've been trying to teach my parrot how to say "Asalaamu alaikum" (and how to respond to it). He's an African Grey, like the bird featured in the right hand column of this video. he picks up what he wants to pick up though...so instead of Al Fatihah he coughs, tells the cats to "STOP it!!", and meows. Sigh. lol

Aww mashaAllah, I love birds so much. I used to have a parrot and I tried to teach him to talk so much but he never really learned anything useful. Once I decided to teach him to say "Haan" (yes in urdu) and would sit in front of the cage and say the word 10 times in a row hoping he'd pick up at least one of the words. After many failed attempts and when I'd lost all hope, I stopped teaching him. Then one day he burst out saying "Haan haan haan haan haan" 10 times in a row! Lol. After that it would be the funniest thing with him sitting on top of his cage, preening his feathers and going "haan haan haan haan haan haan......."

In the winters I'd bring him in to my room and that's when he started making weird beeping noises like an alarm clock. Crazy bird. I used to study for my exams in front of him and explain all the complex stuff and he'd just tilt his head to the side and listen quietly. He was crazy for food - I think he was most attached to food than to any of the family. He would drink tea from a spoon and then when it was all gone, he'd lick the spoon with his little teeny tiny purple tongue.

Then he flew away and crushed my heart. I can't bear getting another bird anymore.
