After being fired from his job at Red Rooster Scott Evan McCormick sought to get even by ordering a veritable avalanche of poultry.
A DISGRUNTLED Red Rooster employee sought revenge by hacking into a stores computer system and ordering $67,000 in chickens, a court has heard.
After quitting his job following a disagreement with his boss, Scott Evan McCormick decided to take an unusual revenge.

The 23-year-old ordered more than AU$67,000 in chickens to be delivered to the fast food restaurant where he had formerly worked, hacking in to the business' stock-ordering system remotely to make the order.

The chickens were ordered from five separate suppliers but were all to be delivered to the Red Rooster outlet at Indooroopilly, in Brisbane's southwest.

However, someone noticed the unusually large amount and the orders were cancelled before delivery.

McCormick pleaded guilty in the Ipswich Magistrates Court today to using a restricted computer without consent to cause, or intent to cause, detriment, damage or gain.

Although no formal conviction was recorded he was ordered to perform 150 hours community service for the prank.

A DISGRUNTLED former IT manager sought to take revenge on his boss.
Walter Powell, 52, was clearly unhappy when he was sacked from his post at Baltimore Substance Abuse Systems Inc.

Unwilling to take his firing lying down Powell decided to hack into his previous employer’s network from home and install some keylogging software in order to collect company passwords.

The coup de grâce for Powell was when he took remote control of his former CEO’s PowerPoint presentation to the company board of directors and projected indecent images on the 64″ TV.

Powell was caught and charged in Baltimore City's first computer hacking case, according to the city's state's attorney's office.

Powell, who pleaded guilty to invading the computer system of his former employer,
was sentenced to two years in prison with all time suspended,
