really i love islam and i want be part of it
but
i have heard many things about of curse not good
so
i want ur help guys
i have 2 questions
and please answer them completely
i want to find out that before i take any step to islam
may questions are



1--
if a woman gets raped
she needs four male witnesses
if she doesn't have four male witnesses, she will be killed
they won't believe her?





2--
why do i see people in saudi, iran, and afghanistan, iraq, pakistan, all these places where women who have been raped are being stoned or killeD?


i hope i get the answer for that

firstly welcome tti.

okay im sure someone will give you a very good reply shortly but in Islam, if a woman or man commits illegal sexual intercourse willingly, the only way the man or woman can be punnished is if there are four witnesses to see the crime. 4 people need to have seen this act. so how often do you think four people witness someone doing this? not very often.

also, the woman or man to commit the crime will not be killed rather lashed (after 4 witnesses are brought forward and have testified). the only time 4 witnesses are not required is if the wife is testifying against her husband, she testifys 4 times, which is equivalent to 4 witnesses and the same applies to a husband testifying against his wife.

also, many people do things in the name of Islam, which are not islamic, all our answers are in the Quran and sunnah (what the Prophet peace be upon him did). i do not believe that in Muslim countries, such killings are taking place as to the extent that the media portrays. anyway im sure one of the brothers or sisters on here will provide a beneficial reply, with quotes.

If a woman is accused of adultery or fornication then the MALE must provide four witness (of good character) to verify they saw the action as well. If a woman is raped she has not commited any sin and the man can be executed (according to shariah law) for creating mayhem and lawlessness in the land. Shariah run courts such as Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, etc., now accept a rape kit as evidence and any other physical proof gathered in the investigation.

However a preventative to rape would be the avoidance of traveling alone if one is female. That is why is usually compulsory for a female to be escorted by a male relative or husband when she is out and about. (there are exceptions such as female with no male relatives of husband as I previously experienced)

I am not sure where you "saw" this but I suspect it was on youtube or some form of news media. I've seen a tape of a young female being kicked to death in her village and I have also seen about 5 different "Exaplantions" (ie. that is was "honor killing", or she was a witch or some other nonsense). What I believe I was seeing some mob mentality in effect...something very much here in the West (think of the LA riots) and the Western media will attach anything inflammatory towards Islam. So always question what you think you are witnessing, most likely it has nothing to do with Islam but rather some uneducated villagers with an axe to grind. Shariah law is very explicit that a woman cannot be blamed for rape and the perpetrators need to be punished by death.
