:salam2: brothers and sisters hope your in good health and imaan, ameen.

as we know psychologist's can determine people on why they say somethings or why they act and if they are lieing or not by looking at their body langauge etc, i was just wondering isit haram to think and acuse someone of lieing if your a psychologist ? as we know that allah only knows who lies and that. I really want to become a psychologist as im intrested init so any help will be good.inshallah next year at university to do psychology.

I have a degree in psychology and can tell you that research reveals there is no "formula" to tell if a person is lying. Body language, eye contact, and other things are culturally and personally effected so there is no universal way to perceive a liar. Now you can usually tell if the person is trying to manipulate you into believing something that isn't true and there is nothing wrong with immediately pointing the behavior out. As oftentimes this can be counterproductive to therapy and reverse progress. (leaving the manipulative behavior unaddressed)

Psychologists help people cope better in life, they are basically very good listeners who have a clinical basis for determining the root of the person's problems. I think a lot of people try to make psychology mystical or even majical but it is a science. It is based off rational thought and usually didatic therapy. I just completed my psychiatric rotation in medical school and have seriously been considering it as a specialty.
