Asalam alaikum brothers and sisters.
This nearly 700 year old Poem should give those who rely upon the Cross something to ponder over! It was composed by Imam Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (R) (691-751 A.H. / 1292-1350 C.E.) who was an immensely learned and prominent Muslim Jurist during Islam's Golden Age [dismissively called the Dark Ages by arrogant Eurocentrics!] He was one of the major students of Shaykh-ul-Islam Ibn Taimiyyah (R). Apart from his prowess in Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and articles of Creed (Aqeeda), he was also a ground-breaking Medical Doctor and authored the ground-breaking book "At-Tibb an-Nabbawi," [The Prophet's Medicine]. As a devotional pastime, Ibn al-Qayyim was amazingly creative and had the artistic gift of composing Qasidah (Polemic Arabic Poetry) which he often wrote down as "Fawaa'id," [Beneficial Reminders]; thus earning the affectionate title "The Doctor of the Heart!" Among his more famous works was a Qasidah entitled "A'obbad al-Maseeh! Fi Naqd al-Nasraniyyah," [O Christ-Worshippers! How to Refute Christianity. This particular Qasidah is taken from Ighathat al-Lahfan; 1/291].
