assalamu alaikum, im new to this forum, thought id share my poems ive written over the last few weeks, please have a read! feedback always appreciated! jazakaAllah khair, heres one about time, i kept the flow simple and short..
Poem 5
Time
Time has got me in it,
Looks like I’ve got to get on with it,
There is no compromising with it,
It’s not like I can deny it,
I am in existence through it,
It’s not going to wait for me is it?
And there’s not a single thing I can do to stop it,
I’m so busy; I’m totally blind to it,
Its definition is controversial, but they all agree that you cannot live without it,
So I have the option to realise within it,
Or maybe I’ll sit back and watch it,
And observe another in it,
Witness the lies, happiness, laughs and tears through it,
Or I could just step back and let go of it,
Actually, I think I prefer taking advantage of it,
I swear there is something good at the end that really is worth it,
I don’t have the might or power to stop it,
But I’m in control here of what I do with it,
Although it knowingly controls me and I fail to see it,
Its length is limitless it seems, or is it?
My mind cannot understand this to deal with it,
But there is a simple reason why its there and I know it,
Somewhere in there, my names imprinted in it,
I just pray I don’t get caught up and lost inside it,
Anyway back to reality…
