I would like to share with you an article I wrote,if there is any fault it is from my ownself,if there is good it is from Allah.
Purpose of existence
Once me and my friend were discussing this topic.
We took into account the things around us.The environment,ecological system and the universe around us.
If we observe the universe which includes us and our planet,we would observe that everything is following a certain law of nature,a course,call it gravity,or thermodynamics or any other name. Everything is following it’s course.
In other words everything submits to the laws set by Allah,as it says in the Qur’an in the interpretation of meaning:
So is it other than the religion of Allah they desire, while to Him have submitted [all] those within the heavens and earth, willingly or by compulsion, and to Him they will be returned?[3:83]Surah Al Imran.
There is one species which is creating havoc on Earth and going against the set laws of nature destroying the ecological system around it .Although everything existing in nature is supporting that species.Any guesses?That species is homo sapiens or humans!Everything is supporting human existence on planet Earth,from the tiniest of planktons in the sea to the biggest of mammals,all in some way or the other supporting the existence of this species.I had felt this very thing when I had a terrible toothache and chewing a clove and it’s juice numbed the pain.This made me wonder.
It says in the Qur’an,at several places, in the interpretation of meaning:
It is Allah who created the heavens and the earth and sent down rain from the sky and produced thereby some fruits as provision for you and subjected for you the ships to sail through the sea by His command and subjected for you the rivers.[14:32]
And He has subjected for you the night and day and the sun and moon, and the stars are subjected by His command. Indeed in that are signs for a people who reason.[16:12]
It is Allah who subjected to you the sea so that ships may sail upon it by His command and that you may seek of His bounty; and perhaps you will be grateful.[45:12]
And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.[45:13]
There are many more verses talking about how everything that exists is made subservient to human beings and follow their due course.
Then the question arises if,everything existing in nature is supporting human being’s existence while they goes on doing whatsoever they like,then why do they exist?
Allah says in the Qur’an in the interpretation of meaning:
Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?[36:77]
The answer is given in the Qur’an.The above posted verses showed how everything has been made subservient for human beings,the following verse will show why he exists:
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.[51:56]
The above verse answers the very question asked by people for a long time throughout human history.Why were we created?There is the simple answer,to worship the one who created us.
Qur’an exorts human beings to ponder over the signs in creation and in itself :
Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.[30:8]
