Question about the 4Imams

As salamualaikum brothers and sisters. There are few questions in my mind can anybody help me to solve those with the help of quran and hadith.
1) What is imamat? Are imams and calipas the same? Where did the 4imams come from which country?
2) Did they all came at the same time?
3) Who are tabbeay taabayeen? And why are called so?
4) If the 4imams followed our prophet then why there is a diffrent way of namaz for everybody?
6) Why is the term Raziallahu anhu said after few names in islam? and what does that mean?
7) If there are 4imams then why are the books of hadith written by muslim and bukhari? dndnt the imam have there own books of hadith?

1) What is imamat? Are imams and calipas the same? Where did the 4imams come from which country?

imamat means to lead. its usually associated with shias. like they believe in their 12 imams. caplih means successor....eg. abu bakr, umar ,usman and ali (ra).

4 imams:
imam abu hanifah - iraq
imam shafi - palestine
imam ahmed ibn hanbal - turkmenistan
imam malik - madinah


2) Did they all came at the same time?
they came from 700 AD to 800 AD approx.

3) Who are tabbeay taabayeen? And why are called so?
it means 3rd generation from sahabas. first sahabas, then tabieen and then tabi tabieen.

4) If the 4imams followed our prophet then why there is a diffrent way of namaz for everybody?
perhaps bcoz prophet (peace be upon him) did some actions in namaaz which he avoided some times. so one imam took some knowledge from one sahaba which he explained how he prayed with prophet.

and another imam took knowledge frm another sahaba, so he told how he prayed behind the prophet...

6) Why is the term Raziallahu anhu said after few names in islam? and what does that mean?
it means may Allah be pleased with him. we tell this after names of sahabas.

7) If there are 4imams then why are the books of hadith written by muslim and bukhari? dndnt the imam have there own books of hadith?
four imams had their books but imam bukhari and imam muslim collected only the most authentic hadiths.
