u know if a muslim asked u something about islam but u didnt want to answer because you'd feel hypocritical, how would u tell them to ask someone else or that u dont want to answer it without revealing that you'd be a hypocrite if u were to answer?

sometimes we are hypocritical. you can refer the person to someone of good islamic knowledge. but if you feel hypocritical, then it may be a good time to reflect on your own personal comittment to islam. we have to let our smallest or most minor sins be seen on the same level as our greatest sins.

in other words, if the issue is going to make you feel like a hypocrite, then just refer that person to someone else, and then do your best to fix what had been making you feel hypocritical, so that the next time you can answer the question without the feeling of guilt.

a poor man had a son ..his son always loved sweets and asked for them ..but the man couldn't explain to the child that he cant afford them ..
so he took the child to the shaikh and told shaikh to tell him "to stop asking for sweets because we cant afford them "
the shaikh said bring your son back in a month's time
after a month the y came bak and Shaikh told him to "stop asking for sweets and explained why"
after all this the dad asked why did you tell me to go and come back in a month's time..
the shaikh answered:
"well .. i loved sweets myself.. so i cant forbid them from the child and have them myself... so i stoped eating them"
