qustion about wali's

salaam alaykum brothers and sister insha'allah u are all well and in the highest of iman right im due to have a nikkah soon and i want my friends brother to be my wali he is alim and is nearly a mulna just wanted to know if he would be allowed to be any one know jazakallah sister zameena

wht i heard is wali should be mature, muslim plus mahram. in necessity, ur masjid's imam could be ur wali.

but i m not sure about ur frnd's bro. maybe others more knowledgable can advice you better.
