No this is incorrect, here is a how-to for conversion to Islam.

It is best to get into contact with your local Muslim community. You may need a certificate stating you are a Muslim from your local masjid (mosque) in order to get approved for Hajj and to get buried in the local Muslim cemetery. It is also best for the other Muslims to know you are Muslim so they can befriend you, help you find a spouse, etc.
