Some scholars say secret of Ramadan lies in laylatul Qadar....this is the night when Qur'an was revealed by Allah for the guidance of mankind. This is one of the odd nights in the last 10 nights of laylatul qadar.
Abu Hurairah reported that the prophet (pbuh) said:
"The blessed month has come to you. Allah has made fasting during it obligatory upon you. During it, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are locked, and the devils are chained. There is a night [during this month], which is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of its good is really deprived [of something great].
Aisha radhiya Allahu `anha, that she said: “O Messenger of Allah! What if I knew which night Lailatul-Qadr was, then what should I say in it?” He said.- “Say.- (Allahumma innaka ‘affuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annee.)
“O Allah You are The One Who pardons greatly, and loves to pardon, so pardon me.”. [at-Tirmithi and Ibn Majah with a Sahih Isnad]
Allah is not only Al-Ghafoor but aslo Affuwwu (the one who not only forgives but alsi erase the sins SubhanAllah).

JzakiAllahu khair sister for your input. In short, we can say that the MAJOR reason why Ramadan is made so special is because the last and final revelation of Allah (subuhaanahu wata'aala) is sent down from Lawh-al-Mahfood to Baitul 'Izzah (a place in the lowest heaven), in THIS month.

With whom did Allah's Messenger revise and research Quran in all the Ramadans of his life? (Please note that it was revised twice in the Last Ramadan in the life of Prophet (sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam).
