Salam aleikoum
The Harlow Islamic Centre situated at Paringdon Road , Harlow CM19 4QT (the old Kingsmoor recreation centre) is hosting a Community Well being event on Sunday 18th July 2010, from 2pm – 6pm.
This event is open to everyone in the community and aims to bring people from all walks of life and faiths together for a better understanding of each other, the community we live in, and to gain awareness of the various organisations that can offer help towards a good healthy living within that community.
There will be professional advice and help on legal issues, home security and safety, health issues, homeless support, local schools and charities to mention a few and the opportunity to understand Islam , Muslims and what we do at the Harlow Islamic Centre. There will be stalls, lectures, questions and answers as well as food with all proceeds and donations going to the local St. Claire’s Hospice.
It is a peace, unity and Community Well being event supported by well known local names like St. Claire’s Hospice, Rethink, Essex Fire & Rescue Service, Essex Police Service, Integration Support Services, Streets2Home, Open Road Drug and Alcohol Advisory Service, Discover Islam, Harlow College, Essex County Council, Harlow Council Leisure & Recreation Services, Harlow Citizen’s Bureau, Thames Water, Veolia Water, Eon Energy and others to be named ; who will be present with their representatives.
It’s free !. Everyone is welcome, including families, friends, neighbours and colleagues so come along and enjoy the day.
Advisory note: Harlow Islamic centre is a place of worship so please respect a modest dress code policy and removal of shoes inside the centre.
