Reading Qura'n from an iphone...

I know that i am not suposed to touch and read Qura'n from mushaf while i have my menstruatl cycle do you know if i can open the Qura'n program that i have on my iphone and read while i am on my period. also how about taking the iphone witch has the qur'an program in it to the bathroom with me while i am talking on the phone or in puplic bathrooms.

Wa'alaikum asalaam sister,

As far as I am aware the answer is yes. As the Qur'an on your phone is not the mus-haf, rather it is a collection of pixels and colours that move around and change, so it does not qualify as the mus-haf so therefore it is permissable to touch your phone and read from it even when in states of impurity.
And as for taking it into the bathroom etc again this is fine for the same reason above.

If I can find the exact fatwa I sourced this from I will paste it, insha'Allah.

Salam,

The masjid of our imam was saying that wudu is not required when we read an
electronic quran so i think the answer i yes too but if any body has a fatwa it would be much better.

i also agree with the above two answers.. as far as i know it is permissable as it is not mushaf so it should be allowed.. sorry i havent given any references.. this is what i may have learnt from my father
