Allah (swt) says in the Qur'aan
Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving; (surah al mulk : verse 2)
Allah also said that every soul shall taste the death
surah Al 'Imran
Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing). (verse 185)
While life and death are from Allah, we have to remember that they are to take place with the permission of Allah alone. Each one's life and death are decided by Allah. It is stated in the Qur'aan
And no person can ever die except by Allah's Leave and at an appointed term. And whoever desires a reward in (this) world, We shall give him of it; and whoever desires a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give him thereof. And We shall reward the grateful (verse :145)
Life in this world is a temporary one. The real( Permanent) life is the one of Life Hereafter. In this respect the Qur'aan states
And this life of the world is only amusement and play! Verily, the home of the Hereafter, that is the life indeed (i.e. the eternal life that will never end), if they but knew (Surat Al-`Ankabūt :64)
We are here on a trial basis, we are here on a temporary basis, and we are here for a passage to Paradise or Hell . The real life of an eternal rest is that of the hereafter. In this respect Allah says
"O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the Hereafter that is the home that will remain forever." (Surat Ghāfir :39)
Without coming to this world, and without dying we can't go to paradise. We can't dream to go to the final destination without tasting death. So we have to die whether we like it or not. Death is truth (Haqq). . It is a passage to Paradise. Therefore, it is important that we remember the death and prepare for it..

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:
When the dead body. is placed in the grave, he listens to the sound of the shoes (as his friends and relatives return after burying him).

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased).

On the authority of Ibn 'Umar, radiyallahu 'anhuma, who said: The Messenger of Allah, sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, took me by the shoulder and said:
"Be in this world as though you were a stranger or a traveler/wayfarer."
Ibn 'Umar used to say:
"When evening comes, do not expect (to live till) morning, and when morning comes, do not expect (to live till) evening. Take from your health (a preparation) for your illness, and from your life for your death."

This worldly life is a means to the next life. We seek the good in it, as a means to the good in the next life.
my brother and sisters, we really need to remind each other about, Death, Jannah, hellfire etc...
ALLAH says in surah Surat Al-'A`lá :verse 9-17
Therefore remind (men) in case the reminder profits (them).
The reminder will be received by him who fears (Allah),
But it will be avoided by the wretched,
Who will enter the great Fire and made to taste its burning,
Wherein he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living).
Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islamic Monotheism) shall achieve success,
And remembers (glorifies) the Name of his Lord (worships none but Allah), and prays (five compulsory prayers and Nawafil additional prayers).
Nay, you prefer the life of this world;
Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.

May Allah grant us Jannat-ul-Firdous and may Allah allow us to be with the Prophet
on the Day of Judgment and near him in Jannah. May Allah allow us to strive hard in pleasing Him. May Allah forgive all of our sins that we have committed in the past, and those that we will commit in the future, whether they are major or minor sins. May Allah allow us to win the ultimate Championship of all, His pleasure and His Jannah! May Allah save us from the punishment of the grave and Hell-Fire. May Allah guide us to the straight path and allow us to be steadfast upon the straight path. Ameen
