Recite a third of the Qur’an every night!!

Asalaamu Alaykum


Abu Ad-Darda’ (RA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Is one of you not able to recite a third of the Qur’an every night?” They (the companions) said, “How can he (a person) recite a third of the Qur’an?” The Messenger of Allah (SAW) responded, ‘Qul Huwallahu Ahad’ (Surah Al-Ikhlas) is equivalent to a third of the Qur’an

Abdullaah bin Mas’ood (ra) reported that the Messenger (sas) said: “Whoever recites one letter from the Book of Allaah then he will receive a good reward, and every good deed is rewarded with ten times its like. I do not say that Alif Laam Meem is one word but Alif is one word, Laam is one word and Meem is one word.”

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem
Qul Huw-Allahu Ahad
Allah-us-Samad
Lam yalid wl lam yulad
Wa lam yakul lahu kufuwan ahad


In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Say: He is Allah, the One!
Allah, the eternally Besought of all!
He begetteth not nor was begotten.
And there is none comparable unto Him.

Jazaki Allah khair sister for this post. Does it include to recite the Surah Ikhlaas from the heart, or an individual must hold the Qur'an to recite????

wow, i say say that surah at least ten times a day.

There is Hadeeth in which few people came to Prophet SAW and complained abt one guy who always used to recite Surah Al Ikhlas everytime he led prayer. few people were annoyed as they wanted some lengthy surah be recited for which Prophet SAW asked the guy whats the matter with him for which he replied that he cannot recite any other surah as he loves this surah so much. So Prophet SAW said ALLAH also loves you and the your love for this surah will take you to Jannah.
