Repel darkness

:salam2:

I hope tis post finds everyone in the best of health and iman inshaAllah.
I was a bit mad today with Islamophobes and atheists,I read about and atheists/agnostics I interacted with today..so I rant, all over the place .Please forgive me.

DARKNESS is the ABSENCE of LIGHT.It is NOT the presence of anything.Darkness is hollow and consuming. It suck the "you" out of "you" and leaves you empty.A person engulfed by darkness wanders like a vagabond searching for a ray of light to bathe in but unlike a vagabond, never finds it.The parable of their entaglement with the dark is given in Surah An Nur,in the 40th ayah in the interpretation of the meaning:

"""Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light."""[24:40]

Thus, losing themselves completely in this darkness

Why?It says in Surah Al Hashr in the 19th ayah in the interpretation of the meaning:

"And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves."[59:19]

Now,there they are searching, looking for a ray of hope, unable to find any. They turned away from their nature, their fitrah upon which they were created, end up losing themselves in the process.Struggling hard,to find a way out of it.Too bad,it's too late...or is it?

""""""Respond to your Lord before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. No refuge will you have that day, nor for you will there be any denial.
[42:47] Surah ash shu'ara]""""""

But WHAT does the LORD WANT?

""""O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous -
Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped).
[2:21-22]Surah Al Baqarah"""""""""

WHAT do we KNOW?

Oh did you forget?
""""""""""""And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware.[7:172]""""""""""""
You made a promise,did you forget it.You say you didn't?You don't remember?
It's embedded inside you, just LOOK WITHIN.

""""""""""""""Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.[30:8]Surah Ar Rum""""""""""

What?No one created the universe? How was it created?

"""Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.Surah At Tur[52:35-36]"""

So,something creating itself out of nothing and something creating itself seem more logical to you, than it having a creator,so much so that you come up with theories like multiple unverse and infinitely oscillating universe out of your posterior?

What?You are not sure?

"""Rather, they are not certain.[52:36] Surah At Tur"""

There's the darkness within which you have buried your fitrah and your intellect.
While there's still time:

""""""Respond to your Lord before a Day comes from Allah of which there is no repelling. No refuge will you have that day, nor for you will there be any denial. [42:47] Surah ash shu'ara]""""""

Assalamu allaicum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

Jazzak Allah khair dear brother for sharing with us this very usefull thread MashAllah.

MashAllah this is very well said that darkness is only the absence of light, and if I can add more Inshallah, that this can also be related with our eman and our deeds. We can aslo say that there is no actually evil ( in our deeds or souls), but that is only an absence of good deeds and true faith in Allah.

And Allah knows the best.

May Allah guide us all to the right path and help us all.Ameen.

Wa 'alaikumassalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,
Wa JazakAllahi Khayr ukht,
I agree that it can be related to our iman, there are times when we feel loss of iman in our hearts and we feel lost,as if surrounded by darkness or sinking into it,some people have called it ,"The dark night of the soul".
Then there is guidance from Allah and light from Allah,The Quran, the spring of hearts and light of chests, just as light chases darkness away, similarly Quran gives life to our hearts and light to our chest. It's the dhikr of Allah in which heart finds it's stability and life.As Allah says in the Quran,in the interpretation of the meaning:

Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve - their allies are Taghut. They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein.[2:257]
Surat Al Baqarah

If we believe in Allah then He is our ally,we need not fear darkness.
We should be careful which side we chose.

About bad deeds sister, they are from our own vain desires, their existence is detrimental in deciding what is good.If there is no bad, then how will we know what is good?
Virtue, if programmed, is not true virtue, it is always something less. You can program a computer never to make an incorrect statement but it does not thereby become a truthful computer, nor does any medicine possess compassion, although they are made to help the sick. The Qur'an presents the Angels as non-discriminating beings, as beings who are pure. While man is potentially much greater and alternatively much worse creature. It emphasizes three essential components of this stage of man’s moral and spiritual evolution; Free will, or the ability to choose; Intellect, the tool for weighing the consequences of one’s choices and learning from them; and third, An environment of adversity.

To learn to be truthful requires the option to lie, and hence the ability to learn and discern. A higher level of honesty is attained if we insist on speaking the truth in adversity, say at the threat of physical or material loss. To grow in compassion there must be suffering and the choice to ignore it. And so it is with all the virtues; love, charity, forgiveness and so on. To grow in each of them, we must have the alternative to do otherwise and the possibility for the existence of hate, indifference, greed, vengeance or revenge, and obviously suffering.

Alhamdullilah for islam, we can say this millions times, alhamdulilah for islam and its teachings.
Dear brother, at the beggining of your words, you said discusions with atheist made you angry...i can understand this very well, people that dont belive in our Creator not only that are blind, the hearts are blind, but are also very proud and they violently defend their ignorance.....

For non-belivers, to be blind make me feel mercy for them and makes me fear thinking we are never safe from this, thats why we have to pray with sincerity always for guidance. We can be deceived because we are humans and sheitan never rests, plus this world is so full of problems and the bad path is the easiest one, may Allah protect us.....but the way they are proud thinking we humans are self-sufficient and that we are the superior power of this universe...these is very disturbing for us muslims to hear...

Allah the Almighty stated:

"Verily, you (O Muhammad) guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He knows best those who are the guided."
(28:56)

“Truly, God does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves.” (Quran 13:11)

I always think that Allah guide whom He will but also Allah told us that He wont change us until we will change ourselfs...what is the best way to get out of darkness ? what qualitis has a potential revert muslim ? maybe to ponder and to observe the world around him much..maybe to study islam....i really dont know, Allah knows...i know that before i meet islam, i cried, deeply, i pray to God to show me something because my heart could not bear this life anymore, i felt something is missing, i was looking for the purpose of life...and now i always think if all humans are like this...incomplete without faith...or just settle with the pleasures of this life.... what makes a heart change towards light...
Allah knows best.

Sister, what made me angry was because they mocked verses of Allah,it makes me shiver. These are words of Allah!SubhanAllah, how darkness has affected us,that we dare!Today Sheikh Assim Al Hakeem posted following on facebook:
Allah ordered us to avoid the steps of Satan. I will mention 4 phases were he begins with the easiest, with the last being the worst. The first phase, no one of us can escape. This is when he lures us to sin. We are usually regretful and feel sincere and deep remorse. The Prophet said that all Sons of Adam are sinful and the best of them are those who repent. The second phase is when one returns to committing the sin yet he doesn’t feel remorse anymore and doesn’t repent. However, he still conceals it and does it in secret, not in public. Allah is most likely to forgive him for not doing it publically. The third phase is when he sins openly without caring who knows and who doesn’t. He has no shame and doesn’t feel he is doing anything wrong. The last and final phase is when Satan takes full control over him and turns him into a freak, calling others to his sin, defending it and beautifying it to others. Othman may Allah be pleased with him said: a woman who fornicates wishes that all women fornicate as well. Therefore, if you see someone who has hit rock-bottom like this, give up hope and warn people from his evil and vice. Most likely, he is on his way on becoming a full-fledged hypocrite. May Allah protect us all.
Ameen

Alhamdulillah, that Allah guided us.Allah embedded fitrah inside us,an innate disposition to recognise the universal truths which includes recognition of Lordship of Allah over us.Allah also gave us all intellect to think and ponder,to reflect over his creations and who created it.Then he sent revelations to guide us from darkness into light. When this intellect upon fitrah was guided by revelations,a state of baseerah, which is knowledge as certain and sure ,as if we can see them with our eyes.Truth is heavy ,it needs humility, lowering, compliance, submission and love.
This is very different to the kaafir who, by definition, conceals and buries what the fitrah necessitates, and this concealment is through the speech of the heart (takdheeb, juhood) or the action of the heart (kibr, kurh, inaad) of the heart. Upon this, whatever "objective scientific enquiry" the kaafir claims to be operating up, then fitrah has already been made inadmissible to and annulled from it, and thus the conclusions from what are observed of the entities (mu'ayyanaat) in the universe through research and introspection (what they define as "science") are fed from the kufr of the heart that has already buried and concealed the fitrah.

"And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves."[59:19]

They forgot Allah,Allah made them forget themselves.

Alhamdulillah Who is controller of hearts.Who changes hearts and gives them life.
May Allah keep us on the straight path and never leave us to ourselves ,even for the blinking of an eye.Ameen.

Assalamu allaicum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

Jazzak Allah khair dear brother for your good explination MashAllah from which we all can learn a lot Inshallah.

I agree with you dear brother that Allah has created us human beings diffrent than Malaks ( who are completely pure) and who are not commiting any sins that Allah has forbideen, because Allah has created them to do only good SubhanAllah, while Allah has created us human beings like weak and because of our human weekness ( our nafs) we commit sins, but Alhamdulillah also Allah gaved us ability of reason and created our souls on pure way that we can make difference between good and bad deeds.

I think dear brother that Allah created our souls on pure way Allahdmulillah but also Allah gaves our nafs ( desires) and they can lead us astray or because of them we are close to sins and errors,as Allah sais that human being is forgetfull and is ungratefull to Allah.

That is why I said brother that actully there is no evil in our souls by nature as Allah is Pure Creator and how Allah can create our souls like that and that He created our souls as pure in their fitrat( nature) SubhanAllah, but that our nafs( our desires) may lead us to commit sins and our nature to commit errors.Allah tells us aslo in Quran that He showed our souls way of good and evil, and that it is upon every human being to choose which way to go because Allah gaved us a free will, and He guided us trough His Messangers. And also Alhamdulillah if Allah did not created us on this way ( with our nefs) than how could we give our own effort to be better Muslims and Mumins so that Allah can be more pleased with us InshAllah. It is the same like if we wish to successed in some commpetion for example, and if there are no given tasks which we need to pass to win on the end Inshallah, than how can we say that actually we have win and successed? It is the same with our striving and our effort to be better Muslims for Allah sake. The more harder tasks our Rabb gives us it is for our own good so that our souls may be more clean Inshallah and that we may be one of those happy on this World and Ahirah, Inshallah.

I hope Inshallah I have explained myselfe now on better way.

May Allah guide us all to the right path.Ameen.

:wasalam:

Wa alaikumassalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,

JazakAllahi Khayr ukhti karima for your clear explanation. It was really helpful and educative mashaAllah.

I agree that there is nafsul 'ammara bissu (the self inclining to evil),which calls towards evil "And I free not myself (from the blame). Verily, the (human) self is inclined to evil, except when my Lord bestows His Mercy (upon whom He wills). Verily, my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (12:53)
This calls towards basic and carnal, evil deeds ,which appeal to it most, sometimes(most times actually) we get overpowered by it and end up following our hawaa(vain desires). [ And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah ?[28:50] ]
Then there is a self within us which reproaches,i.e nafsul lawwama And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection].[75:2]
This soul keeps blaming the self, after sinning so that it can rectify itself and be on right path.
Then when nafsul 'ammara bis su' is suppressed and we are at peace and rest and our actions and intentions are in accordance with Allah then there is reassured soul(nafsul mutma'innah),it is pleased with Allah and Allah is pleased with it,as it says in surat al fajr in the following beautiful ayaats:
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],
And enter among My [righteous] servants
And enter My Paradise."
[89:27-30]

It is striving of self against base or lower self and this Jihad will continue throughout our lives until we reach Allah with a qalbul saleem (sound heart).
Our pains, our hurts in the way of this strive elevate our status and puriffy us of sins ,if we are patient.Life is a long battle of self against self.

May Allah make us of them.Ameen.

Fitrah was embedded in us when we were taken from the loins of Bani Adam and made to testify Allah's Lordship,as it says in Surah Al 'A'raf verse 172
And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."[7:172]

So,when we forgot Allah,He made us forget ourselves. As I quoted earlier in 19th ayah of surat al hashr("And be not like those who forgot Allah , so He made them forget themselves."[59:19])
The knowledge of ourselves is related to Allah,we find ourselves when we find Allah, without Him we are lost and Allah is soo merciful,He found us lost and guided us.(And He found you lost and guided [you], Surah Ad Duha[93:7]) (I was reading this surah surah ad duha now and it bought tear to my eyes,I recommend everyone read it once)
So our connection with Allah is vital in our spritual survival in this world and hereafter and that is through His kalam(speech),Al Quran. The spring of hearts. He speaks to us throgh them,we just have to hear, reflect, ponder and act.

Whatever comes from Allah is good and whatever evil or wrong comes,is from our ownselves.May Allah help us in being on the right and away from the wrong path and enter us into jannatul firdaus.Ameen.

Islam is a way of life
A rant is so good for settling your emotions. It lets out frustration or anger, and masha allah this rant is beneficial for us. Sometimes its hard because Atheism is "in" right now. Meaning, it's a fad. Everyone wants to be cool and Atheist because only Atheists are seen as intelligent. May allah swt guide these people and save us from their bad influence.

Yes sister, rant helps in getting anger and emotions out. What made me angry was that they used words of human beings like Nietzsche,to mock verses of Allah. That person who was disoriented himself and who though ,"art" is better than "truth",these people are in such a sorry state of oblivion and delusion and they call us deluded!SubhanAllah,it is either hatred has blinded their eyes or they chose to be blind. These people need to "THINK" rather than follow their desires.
Ameen to your duas.
