What do you bros and sis`s from UK think of these people begging for money around the streets of London, especially in front of different masaajid and shopping areas.

They don a headscarf and say "bismillah". Do you think they`re fraudsters?

but the think I do know is that we shouldn't judge people when theiy're saying La ilaha illah Allah
they're saying Bismillah, we're not supposed to ask 'em what faith are you believing

Was-salaam

All they do is show of their phrases, bismillaah, as-salaamu `alaykum, inshaa' Allaah'... When you talk to them you realise they don't know even a thing about Islam...

Dear brother " zombie" there is nothing funny wallahi.

There are Roms who are also Muslims, and very good Muslims masha-allah, and Allah knows the best who are His honest servants.

There is nothing to be amazed about that or ask a question"Is it possible" like the brother above did.

Islam is not restricted to members of specific nations or ethnic groups, Islam was sent to all mankind. Allah guides to Islaam whom He wishes SubhanAllah.

And Allah knows the best

:wasalam:

EDIT:

And as for the statemant of brother above who said :"show of their phrases, bismillaah, as-salaamu `alaykum, inshaa' Allaah', we should not generalise things, becouse there are Roms who practise Islaam. I saw many Roms coming in mosque, and they prayed Sallah like all other Muslim Allhamdullilah.

We should not judge all Roms , or any other group of people, only becouse of some individuals and their deeds..

Only Allah is All Knowing my dear brothers

Wa sallam

You missed the point. We know that some of them are Muslims, but many of them are fraudsters. Most Romanis are Christian as we know, and when you get speaking to them, it becomes obvious to tell apart the fraudster from the Muslim beggar. If you don't live in the UK then it's hard to comprehend the situation over here.

Secondly, I didn't even generalise (???), I commented on the fraudsters, not the Romanis!

Im not from London nor do I live there, however I have come across similar folk in certain parts of my city (UK).

I couldn't be sure of their nationality but I assumed Romanian, they wore small headscarves and offered to wash my car while I was stopped at the traffic lights, not exactly the safest spot for a car wash but they didn't seem to care.

I was glad when I could move off again. Sometimes they just throw soapy water on your windscreen and begin cleaning it without warning!

I don't know how the expect to get paid for washing someones car (I assume that is their aim?) when that person didn't ask them to do so, moreover they're about to drive off anyways?

I had assumed they were Muslims actually.

This happens a lot... But at least these ones are putting more effort than begging. Also, I've not seen Muslim Romanis do this, only the kuffaar amongst them. Having said that, some of the Muslims you see trying to sell 'The Big Issue' and whatever else. Again, I much rather help these ones then the beggars and fraudsters.

It is becouse in many countries they are being discriminated and they do not get enough social help, they are not active members of society, they do not get education, and becouse of this and many other thing they are "forced" to "throw soapy water on your windscreen", to survive.

And Allah knows the best

May Allah guide us all

I think I did understand your point, but jazzak Allah khair for explaining it once again.

Insha-Allah the next time when there is a question "Are they fraudsters" on which the answer is not yet given, we should try not to answer with "All of them are", but we should mention both "They are those who are Muslims and there are also those who are not Muslims", "There are those who are fraudsters, and those who are not" and at the end we should also add "Allah knows the best".

And I also did not said that you have generalised things. I only said in general that we should not generalise things.

I do not live in UK, but Allhamdullilah I do live in a country where there are Roms who are good Muslims masha-allah, and where are members of our society who are giving their best to support them and help them, as we all know that in mayority they are being discriminated.

And Allah knows the best

Throwing soapy water on the windscreen without getting paid doesn't really enhance their survival rate. Im sure they figured that out by now; they need a longer term action plan to ensure a bit more stability for themselves and their children.

I pray their situation improves bi 'idhnillaah and if they're not Muslim, that they are guided.

Also, I've not seen Muslim Romanis do this..

How can you tell the difference? All Romanian women tend to wear little head peices, (the car washers I mentioned were women). You probably spoke to some of the men I guess, right.

I hope I don't say anything bad but once this Muslim lady begged me to pay her weekly rent, like £45 or something. I apologised and said I can't afford it. I mean come on yeah me paying someone's rent :S She was a pregnant refugee from Uzbekistan and said she came here to escape from the bombings. She was always outside the supermarket handing out magazines. I used to see her almost everyday and I even took her mobile number. I haven't seen her for like three years now but I was glad to know she's Muslim.

Back to the Romanians/gypsies, sometimes me and my friends hand out leaflets or collect donations in buckets outside mosques and there's always these ladies who have babies with them and they beg us for money and some of the Muslims charge at them to make them go away lol and I'm talking about mosque security brothers lol. It's worse during jumu'ah and 'eid. I told some sisters what's their problem, they're Muslims you know but they told me not to give them money. And then I saw it's true they may not even be Muslim. If they are Muslim, then how comes they never go in the mosque to pray? Lol, they're just after money. And one of the little boys that was begging was wearing the latest sports clothes, so it was clear maybe they're not poor afterall, just fraudsters.

@ Sis Channa- I had a similar experience when my sister and mom and me went to the masjid for Jumuah prayer..there was this lady who said she ws Bosnian and needed money and even had a cardboard sign out asking or money..she ha a crying baby in her arms too. My sister gave her money but the masjid parking lot brother was tellig the Bosnian woman to go away and he told us she's lying and is jet trying to get money. Even an older Egyptian woman in the masjid said she pulls the same thing all the time on Friday..I don't know if there was any truth to that..but it always good to give and help people

Assalaam walaikum,

I know we, Muslims, must use common sense. Thus, we are required to have discussion on subjects.

We have to decided, as individuals, to what degree are we going to live our lives. Are we going to use the guides we have been given in the Quran and the Sunnath to gauge our deeds.

Remember, this is no compulsion in religion.

Some will give charity as prescribed: Zakat.
Some will give charity out of respect: they give to those who ask
Some will give charity out of joy: Let not the left hand know what the right hand give...

We have taken a responsibility that the mountains et. al. would not out of fear...we are responsible for all of Allah's creation..and if they are human..

So let us not quibble but think of how we can be responsible in our deeds.

give and don't question anything! (with exceptions of coarse: like a man wanting money to buy alcohol)

all deeds are based on intentions. see collection of hadith "40 An-nawawi" number 1.

if your intention was correct then everything else in sha Allah will fall into place. That is what counts and that is what matters.
