Assalamualaikum.

I want to ask your opinion.

Is it allowed for a quran memorizer when he/she once has decided to memorize the whole quran than he stopped half way?

We know that memorizing Quran is not a very easy thing to do if one is not ready for it.

I myself I have memorized whole Quran and I find it very good to myself.
I remember Allah more and it's a kind of motivation to continue living in this world.

Because of that I feel so sad and also worried for my friends who have quitted memorizing Quran, some of them say that they couldn't do that anymore, only this limit.

I'm afraid that they won't read Quran as much as they were.

I'm looking forward for your answers.

Well this is my opinion really... If they decided to stop memorizing bro/sis, that is their choice subhanallah. You can make duaa that they continue memorizing and encourage them. Tell them the benefits of knowing the whole Quran by heart inshallah and the rewards In the hereafter.

Mashallah that you know the whole of the Quran!

I pray that Allah keeps our hearts steadfast always.!

i've heard of a hafiz (guardian) but i've never seen anybody called a quran memorizer.

on the day of judgement, hafiz will wear crowns on their heads that will shine brighter than the sun. (so i've been told)

I agree with Summer03, you can tell them and make dua for them inshaAllah, as for wether it's good or bad, I would say it's bad because you are living the words of Allah and what else is better than reciting HIS glorious words??? I dont want to be seen as a hypocrate, but I have left the Quran half way through it, and I REGRET that!:astag: It's really hard to get back on track again! inshaAllah, they will realize that soon then later. may Allah have mercy on your friends and all of us and may Allah guide us all.Ameen

I'm sorry again for my language ( i've tried to find suitable meaning for Haafizul Quraan)
maybe the more appropriate is The Keeper of Quran. 'guardian' also better..

Now what I'm trying to do is to keep giving them information about how wonderful Quran is.

I just feel bad when thinking that me and my friends are all around 19-20 years old so we are still young why we choose not to do it when we are still strong...
