SCIENCE AND GOD

Fiqr or deep contemplation is a rare commodity in the modern world because we tend to go through the motions more than experiencing the reality. But deep contemplation is something that is said to be universal, the problem of modernity is that our increasing knowledge of the diversity and the brilliance of Allah's creation has distracted us because of its beauty and precision from getting the whole picture: we can't see the woods for the trees. Maybe one day they will come up for the equation or the theorem that finally cracks it,, Steven Hawkins in his "brief history of space and time" says if "we can find the unified theory then we shall know the mind of God". But the final equation will not be disclosed to the human mind because then it will unfairly privilege a bunch of academics and mathematician and its not Allah's will that academics should have unfair access to him it is his will that all humans whether their intelligent or not, whatever their race, is or educational attainment because he is just and fair. Science will not find no generative principle for finding God by instrument.

Islam describes these secular scientist as being distracted by the mechanics of nature. All the pointers have distracted them from what is being pointing to. Go ahead and look at the universe, and how everything is put together, the beauty,balance, symmetry, and reflect on the statement of Allah when he declares that their is no inconsistency in the universe. But despite this marvel that is soo profound they are nonetheless preoccupied with looking only at the marvels;

What science alone cannot fulfill:

Hubble space telescope with its deep field that can look further and further away exploring the very moment of creation. But what it can't tell us is and what it hasn't been designed for is WHY? And that can never be known ultimately by science because their is nothing in the created world that can irrefutable point to its own nature. Philosophical argument,higher mathematics, Hubble space telescopes cannot reach beyond themselves. Thats not what their for, their part of the physical world, and that is one of the greatest errors of religion to think you can come up with a rational argument on the level of mentation and logic that proves anything. You cannot do that. The system is closed and circular. You can point to the coherence of theism and you can show how this is the best possible explanation but you cannot prove anything definitively . Allah says that perceptions cannot attain him.

What it's missing.

Since the system is closed the physical cannot reach the metaphysical; no amount of instruments of science can uncover the unseen. But Allah only can reach the physical by way of revelation or by the Quran. This is the only way that one can possibly know Allah and be satisfied on an intellectual level and this Allah commands us to spread to the world. Science is good for coherency not for proof. Allah is unseen and cannot be revealed by mere instruments but his creation points to him with thousands and thousands of fingers showing the way, not stripping his veil.

Salam.
