Hail, lightning and gales came through the state's eastern region this summer thanks to scientist-puppetmasters.

As part of a secret program to control the weather in the Middle East, scientists working for the United Arab Emirates government artificially created rain where rain is generally nowhere to be found. The $11 million project, which began in July, put steel lampshade-looking ionizers in the desert to produce charged particles. The negatively charged ions rose with the hot air, attracting dust. Moisture then condensed around the dust and eventually produced a rain cloud. A bunch of rain clouds.

(See TIME's pictures of the year 2010)

On the 52 days it rained in the region throughout July and August, forecasters did not predict rain once.

While fascinating, this is not the first time scientists have attempted to mess with Mother Nature. China has been tinkering with cloud seeding for years, not always successfully.

But the idea that countries in the Middle East could actually create rain in this water-poor region could go a long way to solving the area's problems with drought and is considered to be cheaper than desalination. But how controllable the weather can be is still in doubt, and the consequences of meddling with nature at this level are yet to be seen.

Assalamu'alaykum,

This feels sinister..

Isn't the Dajjal supposed to have the ability to alternate the weather and it would be one of the reasons people would be deceived by him?

:salam2:

no it probably is not sinister.

There is a hadith I recall where it mentions that the peninsula of Arabia, with be green again.

I don't know the exact wording of the hadith sorry.

The knowledge to be able to accomplish this is from Allah, swt. As everything is in His domain.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

It should be noted that Quran has not been revealed to teach chemistry, or arhitecture, or medicine, or agriculture, or other sciences related to life on Earth, which Allah has entrusted to man as the Caliph on earth, after he was granted the possibility of studying and acquiring knowledge.

Allah Subhana we Teala sais in Quran:

"Read: In the name of thy Lord Who createth, (1) Createth man from a clot. (2) Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, (3) Who teacheth by the pen, (4) Teacheth man that which he knew not." (96:3-4).

Therefore the Quran is not scientific book related to this sciences. It is on us to find it in all scientific truth, in all areas of the previous sciences which are contained in it.

The One who created man and taught him, The One who revelaed the Quran and explained it, has informed and promised in His Book that people, especially scientists, will discover the truth about the clear signs that are found in the Quran , so that they can be a proof of truthfulness of the mission of Prophet Muhammed s.a.w.s.

Allah Subhana we Teala sais in Quran:

"Bethink you: If it is from Allah and ye reject it - Who is further astray than one who is at open feud (with Allah)? (52) We shall show them Our portents on the horizons and within themselves until it will be manifest unto them that it is the Truth. Doth not thy Lord suffice, since He is Witness over all things?" (41:53).

" Those who have been given knowledge see that what is revealed unto thee from thy Lord is the truth and leadeth unto the path of the Mighty, the Owner of Praise." (34:6).

Islam is not against science and scientific progress, in fact Quran constantly encourages people to think over and search for new knowledge, because through the knowledge we actually come to know Allah, His creation and His evidences.

Regarding the artificial rain, and this scientific discovery it should be emphasized that all chemical substances which were used to produce the artifical rain, they were alredy created by Allah, and everything else that we possess it is created by Allah and it belongs to Him and shows us that Only Allah is capable to create This Universe, to mentain it and to keep it in order.

Allah is The Only who is All Knowing and everything happens only by His will, and if Allah did not wanted He could not to allow this sciientific undertakeing to work out.

Therefore the artifical rain does not represent creation of Allah as Allah is the One who is the Giver of the rain , The One who sends winds and with them clouds which are carring rain.

"It is Allah Who sends the Winds, and they raise the Clouds: then does He spread them in the sky as He wills, and break them into fragments, until you see rain-drops issue from the midst thereof: then when He has made them reach such of his servants as He wills behold, they do rejoice!"(Al Quran)

In the eleventh verse of Surat az-Zukhruf, rain is defined as water sent down in due measure. The verse is as follows:

"And He who sends down (from time to time) water from the sky in due measure, and We raise to life therewith a land that is dead. Even so will you be raised (from the dead)." (Surat az -Zukhruf, 11)

"And We send down from the sky rain chartered with blessing, and We produce therewith gardens and grain for harvests." (Surah Qaf, 9).

I pray to Allah to not deprive us from His blessings, esppecialy one of His greatest blessings unto us, and it is that we only ask from Him as He is only the Plentiful Giver (Al-Baasit). Ameen Ya Rabb

And Allah knows the best

May Allah bless our Ummah and guide us on the right path. Ameen

Muslim Guy
If this is true, then I really think it's amazing! And definitely a way to solve water problems in dry areas in many Arab countries in the future. I hope there aren't any negative consequences though...like severe droughts in neighbouring areas. Or cyclones and and tornadoes created elsewhere.

I also hope the group of scientists were Muslim. Or at least a significant portion of them.

Assalam alaikum.
