NYC Demonstration for Justice at Guantanamo
Tuesday, December 4, 2007: NYC Demonstration for Justice at Guantanamo
On December 5th, the Supreme Court will hear arguments for the cases of Boumediene v. Bush and Al Odah v. U.S., brought on behalf of men imprisoned for over five years at Guantánamo Bay and deprived of any meaningful court review. What is at stake is the fundamental right to challenge the lawfulness of detention without charges or trial.
Please join us for a demonstration in front of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals at Foley Square (111 Worth Street) from 12pm -1pm. We'll meet at Triumph of the Human Spirit monument at Foley Square. Please wear orange and let us know if you'd like to wear a jumpsuit.
Contact Elena at [email protected] for more details.
Coordinated events are also taking place in DC and Boston. Please forward to all who might be interested. If you cannot join us in NYC, consider participating in those demonstrations.
