As-Salaam 3laikum I just came back from an Interview and they said, they will start me off with 12 dollars an Hour working 5 days a week, which is about $23,000 a Year.I am graduating with a BS with an Applied Math Degree, and they are going to start me with 12 dollars an hour once I graduate I don't know If I shoudl take this job or not, the pay is Horrible, My Parents will most likly tell me to leave it. Is there anyone out there willing to hire me starting at 35 dollars an Hour you'll will make my day.

Also I DONT' MIND MOVING to Another Country!!, I would Prefer to Work in the GCC If there are any brothers and sisters who are Citizens there that can help me

I live on Long Island, in New York. That Big Island that is East of New York City. I live in the Middle of It. And I Am Willing to RELOCATE for WORK espicially if it was to be in the GCC : ) So If any GCC brothers and Sisters here can hook me up with a 35 dollars an Hour Job or Up that would be Great. I have a BS degree in Applied Mathematics from State University of New York which is worth more then 12 dollars an hour that Lady was giving me in My Interview.

well brother from my point of view if u dont have work experience ,dont expect a great salary ,no matter what degree u have and 12 $ an hour alhamdulillah u really lucky to have that offer,how can u say its horrible ,think about it .

what a fool he is, seems like the states are really really going to feel it even worse in the next 2 years.

but anyway to stay on topic, brother it seems to me that with 12 dollars an hour a person can live ok hamdulah,.

My Father doesn't have a Degree in America, but he makes more then 12 dollars an Hour and he makes about $60,000 an Year. If I work 12 dollars an Hour I will be making around $23,000 even with my Applied Math degree, I don't really want to be working for 12 dollars an hour even though it's something lol.

what kind of a job is that, what you going to be doing???

usually students graduated with a math degree are expected to continue there masters or phd and get a nice job... think about something in engineering or something like that...
another career would be in research or helping professors... have you taught about teaching middle or high school???

when did you start looking for a job and how were the results??

usually at the beginning with no experience, you'll have a hard time finding a job with high pay rate...

if you been looking for a long time and need to have a job... i would suggest to take this job (for experience) until you have another job with higher pay... have patience brother and May Allah help you... ameen

I say, take the job, but keep looking. You will gain experience that will help in a future job, and you will have a paycheck besides (even if it is small).

If you lived in a different part of the country, your pay would not be bad (in the midwest, in a medium sized city, you would bedoing ok as a single person), but yeah, in New York, that pay isn't so good.

BUT many companies are not hiring now, so don't turn down an offer - you can keep looking and change when you get something better, and you may learn some good job skills while working anyway.

I turned down the Job, I felt pressure from family. My Father says I should look into more for a Government Job Especially since I am Muslim and I Understand 3 langauges.
