Shab-e-Barat and its authenticity ?

I would like to ask the muslim brothers and sisters about the night of 15th of shaban which is considered by many muslims as the night of salvation and forgiveness. I have come across ahadees about it but all of them are regarded as dhaeef(weak) ahadees.
I am really puzzled about it, since i dont want to do Bidah. But one thing is for sure that Shaban is a blessed month and Prophet(SAW) has emphasized worship and Fasting in this month, but to celebrate the night of 15th shaban and doing ebadat just because of it; is it right to do ?

I actually had the same question because last night at around 11pm my aunt called my mother and was asking her if it was the night of the 15th of Shaban.. i was wondering if it really has a special significance... is it the night our deeds are presented to Allah s.w.t.? is there any particular justification to stand up in prayer this night particularly? etc.. Jazakum Allahu Khayran for any responses.
