I hear you brother, I am here in Texas and have like 0 halaal restaurants in my city.. sigh :(

As far as I know, I have had cow meat in India. If there has been a change in situation, then I am not aware of it. Possibly someone living in India currently can answer. :)

:wasalam:

in india there are many muslim resturants, and yup as sister tabbassum said KFC id not a halal place ..
in this place KFC's cicken is taken from al-kabir...

All KFC, Pizza Hut and all such chains are 100% Halal in Bangladesh, so I guess it'll be the same case for India which although not a Muslim majorit, does have a large no. of Muslims.

Brother, you should look at their certificates and look if they have that certifies them as selling halaal meat/food.

We have this facility of certification here so we shouldn't be going on word of mouth. And true, here in N.America many of the people think halaal means non-pork food so we have to explain them the concept of zabiha halaal etc etc.

Also, I use this website http://www.zabihah.com/ to find out which restaurants have zabihah halaal food before going there.

Other muslim brothers and sisters have also reviewed the restaurants and sometimes you can even come to know if the environment is good there or not.. :) Also has info if the restaurant has a certificate for serving halaal food.

Hope this helps, akhi.

Well. I meant that you get better vegetarian fast food options in America. But I live in a small place where you can't really get good pizza easily, so I want pizza, lol. Indian food can be cooked at home. People don't usually eat daal at a restaraunt when you can make delicious hygienic daal at home. See it like this: when you're in India, you can get all your homecooked food at home. But if you want some change or some sort of fast food, there's no option. But if you're abroad, you can still can get all your homecooked food at home, but you can also get other fast food. See what I mean?

:salam2:

Well American fast food is mostly potato and chicken, vegetarian option huh ? I wish we had it here in Texas :(.

But you can get Indian-Chinese food for a change in India. So that's there.

The Afghan meal I had was an Afghani platter, with different types of rice, different kababs, different grilled meats etc. Uhh.. why are we talking about food when we're fasting? >_<

haha.. its because your post intrigued me and now i know what you had :p.
Well, I wasnt fasting when I was typing my post. :)
