Sleep Fire Alarm
It is reported that Bashr b. Al-H*!ârith said:
“I was once with Al-Fudayl ibn. ‘Ayyâd in Makkah. He sat with us until midnight, then went and did tawâf until the morning. I said:
‘Abû ‘Alî! Won’t you sleep?’ He replied:
‘Woe to you! And is there anyone who hears a mention of the Fire and then feels like sleeping!?’” 1
The Other Fire
A fire once broke out in a house where ‘Alî ibn. Husayn (May Allah have mercy on him) was prostrating in prayer. He didn’t raise his head until the fire went out. When asked about this he said:
The other Fire kept my mind busy.2

‘Alî b. Husayn, known as Zainul‘Âbideen for his devout worship, was the great-grandson of the Prophet
He was the only surviving son of Husayn, son of ‘Ali ibn. Abî Tâlib – May Allah be please with them.
