1) (2:219)They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some benefit for men; but the sin is greater than the benefit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah make clear to you His Signs: in order that ye may consider.
We all know that wine and gambling is Haram, beause thier sin or damage is greater than the benefit. Proof on that whats happening in non-muslim countries, all the car accidents of driving drunk and the killing out of debt of gambling. which brings nothing but lose and misery.
Same thing goes to Smoking and drugs and alcohol, because of the damage it does to the health and relationships.
The way i see it, we dont need Fatwa of a scholar to know its Haram, and that just by reading quran, we can realise the fatwa from it. Becuase Islam was brought to us to keep our rights and teach us our duties toward Allah, ourselves and others.
So if someone says that these things are not Haram, then he's going to be sorry, if not now, then he'll beg for forgivness at the hereafter and he will not get it.
2) As for music: (23:3)Successful indeed are the believers. (1) Those who offer their Salât (prayers) with all solemnity and full submissiveness. (2) And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allâh has forbidden). Most songs are nothing but lies and false talk about love and lose of loved one...etc.
(25:72)And those who do not witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.
evil play or evil talk, like those we used to hear, talking about someone who does drugs and fight policemen and most of those who curse!!
(31:6)And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e.music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allâh without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allâh, or the Verses of the Qur'ân) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire).[] (31:7) And when Our Verses (of the Qur'ân) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride[], as if he heard them not,— as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment
Most of us know whats going on with singers and musicians and actors and actresses.. a marriage that doesnt last a day!! the drug abuse!! beauty contests where women sell thier bodies and men who use women for sex or money!! drinking and driving!!
(5:100)Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Not equal are Al¬Khabîth (all that is evil and bad as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods) and At-Tayyib (all that is good as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, and foods), even though the abundance of Al-Khabîth may please you." So fear Allâh, O men of understanding in order that you may be successful.
{Know ye (all), that the life of this world is but play and amusement, pomp and mutual boasting and multiplying, (in rivalry) among yourselves, riches and children: Here is a similitude: how rain and the growth which it brings forth, delight (the hearts of) the tillers; soon it withers; thou wilt see it grow yellow; then it becomes dry and crumbles away. But in the Hereafter is a Penalty severe (for the devotees of wrong) And Forgiveness from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure (for the devotees of Allah). And what is the life of this world, but goods and chattels of deception? (20) Be ye foremost (in seeking) Forgiveness from your Lord, and a Garden (of Bliss), the width whereof is as the width of Heaven and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His messengers: that is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases: and Allah is the Lord of Grace abounding. (21) No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for Allah: (22) In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For Allah loveth not any vainglorious boaster― (23)}(Surat Al-Hadid 57)
If we can't see it or at least feel it, then we are heart and sight blinded.why do need to hear Fatwa about something we already know does nothing but damage, and drives us away from Allah and stops us from practicing Islam.
