something reverts should know

many reverts say that they found peace in Islam and it is true that Allah guides whom He wills, and for many many reasons people turn to islam. I would also encourage my brothers and sisters to strengthen their faith by reading about the scientific miracles in Quran as well. some of the things told 1430 years ago in the Quran have only been found by science during the last century. And I believe there are many more discoveries to be made..

I was in UK with a guy who said that he believes that the Quran is an outdated book which forbids pork meat because arabs had no way to put it in cold storage. first i reminded him that pork meat contains tapeworms and also it is the major cause of colon and prostrate cancer, then i asked him what he thought of the Bible, is that outdated too?

He said yes because there are many things in the Bible he has to question (This is not my statement, it is a secular Englishman's statement, he is my professor's son, Bennie, wont disclose the last name) .

so i could see how his logic was working: the Bible is a religious script, the Quran is a religious script, the Bible is outdated ergo all religious scripts must be outdated.

i left him a copy of the book 'What did Jesus really say' . he seemed interested in it but unfortunately his dad, being an older man, was very dismissive about Islam. i left them with a sad heart, i wish they would just read about islam than listen to media negations.

but my message to new reverts is that even though Islam offers peace n makes ur heart content, it also has valid scientific proofs which are hard evidence that Allah is real, Islam is true and Muhammad (PBUH) did not just make up anything that he was telling.

.

This is hilarious, isn't it? How do they Arabs keep camel meat then? This Englishman must be "very genius".

But I like the way you did brother Sazk, by giving a book for him to read is really a good way to daawa.

is daawa obligatory on me? people act very strangely. when they find out about Islam they say why didn't you tell this to us before.

but here in UK when i talk to ppl about islam they sort of 'shut off'. they just don't want to listen. its feels like Allah makes them blind and deaf. i dont know... He guides whoever He wills.

but is daawah really an obligation on every muslim?

If you get the chance to give dawaah then do it, if they reject then MashaAllah. But the Prophet :saw: had to give it and the people use to throw camel's afterbirth on him and curse him. As long as when you meet your Lord and he asks you what you did, at least you could say you tried but they did not listen. The only thing that matters is the Hereafter, other than that it just falls short. Allahu Alam. May Allah keep you strong and make you steadfast and patient, and grant us All Jannatul Firdous Ameen
