Salam alaykum
i have been on tti for couple years now, and hamdulilah i have found it beneficial. however i think it would be great if most people when posting threads that they check what they are posting and who it is that has written or spoken about the topics they post, especially since now we are living in times when there is a lot of speakers and less scholars. what i mean is dont post every tom dick and harry and claim they are sheihks...does everyone hear even know what it takes to become a scholar. i say this because there a lot of new muslims who use this site and we should not confuse them. the authentic scholars are well known and they can be traced back to where they learnt their deen...however our speakers (those who speak about islam without firm knowledge) cannot be traced back to authentic scholars rather they are self proclaimed sheihks or da'is.
to teach the deen or speak about it with knowledge you need to be a scholar or a student of knowledge at least. there is no room in islam for 'i think; or 'in my opinion'.
i think as a suggestion to all tti users, i dont know wether or not you read the stickies but i think this one is a good one, because it shows what scolars to take from, both contemporary and classical ones.
