Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullah

As the spring/summer is approaching, the clothes of the people are becoming shorter and shorter. As a result it may effect the thoughts/ideas of a person which may cause him/her to indulge in something haram. Glimpse turns into thoughts and then thoughts turns into an action

So how one can avoid the fitnah/temptation during the summer/spring time? What are some practical techniques that one can implement to maintain if not uplift one's iman level? How one can avoid shaytan?

Feel free to share your personal stories or ways that you have developed to make sure that your iman level is not under the bar? Or feel free to share what sahabas did to keep away from sins and to make sure that your iman is above a certain level.

~~~Alhamdulillah~~~
Wa 'alaikumassalam WaRahmatullahi WaBarakatuhu,
firstly lowering the gaze,while walking or doing anything outside home.
Fasting helps a lot.
Hadhrat ‘Abdullah رضي الله عنه narrates that:
“We were with the Prophet صلي الله عليه و سلم while we were young and had no wealth whatsoever. So Allah’s Apostle صلي الله عليه و سلم said, “O young people! Whoever amongst you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty, and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting is a shield for him (from desires).”
[Sahih al-Bukhari]
Offering salat with sincerity inshaAllah.
Offering Tahajjud would keep the iman boosted inshaAllah.
Listening to reading,reciting Qur'an always helps.If you have learnt a new aayat keep recalling it in mind during daily chores or if free.That will keep us occupied.
Remember a lecture or a recitation or a hadith or an ayaat that brings tears to your eyes and ponder over it.
If one is free,they should undertake a project about gaining Islamic knowledge or some other da'wah project to be occupied.
Look at trees,shurbs ,earth ,birds,sky etc.
Lol, I didn't know fitna had seasons. I do not work with women, so not a problem for me. If it is while you are travelling or something, carry a Rubik's cube or Solve a sudoku puzzle, keeps you busy.. The idea is to keep your mind and yourself busy. As someone said, Idle mind is devil's workshop. And yes, fasting helps.
Some sayings of the Salaf regarding this:
It is reported that Salmân Al-Fârsî – Allâh be pleased with him – said:
I would rather die and be resurrected, die and be resurrected, and again die and be resurrected than to see the private part of a Muslim’s body or for a Muslim to see mine.
Imâm Ahmad, Al-Zuhd p192. 1st ed. 1983. Dâr Al-Kutub Al-’Ilmîyah. Beirut, Lebanon.
It is reported that ‘Abdullâh b, ‘Umar – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
Verily, part of disregarding the trust upon you is to look inside [other people's] apartments and houses.
Ibn Abî Al-Dunyâ, Kitâb Al-Wara’ article 71.
It is reported that Anas b. Mâlik – Allâh be pleased with him – said:
If a woman passes in front of you, lower your eyes until she has passed by.
Ibid. article 72.
It is reported that Al-’Alâ b. Ziyâd – Allâh have mercy on him – said:
Let not your sight follow the nice looking back of a woman [as she passed], for indeed the look causes the desire in the heart.
Ibid. article 77.
It is reported on the authority of Al-Wakî’ b. Al-Jarrâh:
We went out one Eid with Sufyân Al-Thawrî and he said, “The first thing we will do on this day of ours is to lower our gaze.”
Ibid. article 66.
It is reported that Hassân b. Abî Sinân – Allâh have mercy on him – went out one Eid and when he returned home his wife said, “How many beautiful women have you looked at today?” After she kept asking him, he said, “Woe to you! I have looked at nothing but my toe from when I went out to when I returned to you.”
Ibid. article 68.
