Wives ?

:salam2:

Surah 38:51
They will be comfortably seated; they will call for abundant fruit and drink ; they will have well-matched [wives] with modest gaze."

Part of that surah mentions wives ...Why wives? Is it mentioning to like all believers or only to the Prophets that were mentioned before that verse? If so then why wives ?

And can you tell me whats the deal with the 72 virgins thing?

another question
If you were married to a woman you love and then later in the afterlife will you still be with her and have more wives ?

Ok here's the surah"They will be comfortably seated; they will call for abundant fruit and drink ; they will have well-matched [wives] with modest gaze."

I think its like verses 51-52 I believe

I just want to know why are they going to have wives? And is Allah SWT refering these verses to all believers or only to the Persons that were mentioned slightly earlier on ?

Zaynab123

Subhana Allah!
Asalamu alaykum

It is the reward of those who do good in this world. Such as those who protect their chasity etc... it is part of the rewards in the hereafter. I hope this helps. If not make sure you ask 'till you understand it. Allahu a'lam

P.S. i'm not anykind of scholare, just did my best to anwser a qustion.

Allah swt said in Quran:

<<(49. And verily, for those who have Taqwa is a good final return. ) (50. `Adn Paradise, whose doors will be opened for them.) (51. Therein they will recline; therein they will call for fruits in abundance and drinks;) (52. And beside them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf, (and) of equal ages.) (53. This it is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning!) (54. (It will be said to them)! Verily, this is Our provision which will never finish.)>>

The tafseer of the verses

Allah tells us that His blessed, believing servants will have a good final return in the Hereafter, which means their ultimate destination. Then He explains it further, as He says:

[جَنَّـتِ عَدْنٍ]

(`Adn Gardens) meaning, eternal gardens (of Paradise),

[مُّفَتَّحَةً لَّهُمُ الاٌّبْوَابُ]

(whose doors will be opened for them.) means, when they come to them (these gardens), their gates will open for them.

[مُّتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا]

(Therein they will recline;) It was said that this means that they will sit cross-legged on chairs beneath canopies.

[يَدْعُونَ فِيهَا بِفَـكِهَةٍ كَثِيرَةٍ]

(therein they will call for fruits in abundance) means, whatever they ask for, they will find it, and it will be prepared just as they wanted it.

[وَشَرَابٌ]

(and drinks;) means, whatever kind of drink they want, the servants will bring it to them,

[بِأَكْوَابٍ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأْسٍ مِّن مَّعِينٍ ]

(With cups, and jugs, and a glass of flowing wine.) (56: 18).

[وَعِندَهُمْ قَـصِرَتُ الطَّرْفِ]

(And beside them will be Qasirat-at-Tarf (chaste females)) means, they restrain their glances from anyone except their husbands, and do not turn to anyone else.

[أَتْرَابٌ]

((and) of equal ages.) means, they will all be of the same age. This is the understanding of Ibn `Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, Mujahid, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Muhammad bin Ka`b and As-Suddi.

[هَـذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ ]

(This it is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning!) means, `this that We have mentioned of the features of Paradise is what He has prepared for His pious servants who will reach it after they have been resurrected from their graves and been saved from the Fire.' Then Allah tells us that Paradise will never come to an end or disappear or cease to be. He says:

[إِنَّ هَـذَا لَرِزْقُنَا مَا لَهُ مِن نَّفَادٍ ]

(Verily, this is Our provision which will never finish.) This is like the Ayat:

[مَا عِندَكُمْ يَنفَدُ وَمَا عِندَ اللَّهِ بَاقٍ]

(Whatever is with you, will be exhausted, and whatever is with Allah will remain) (16:96).

[عَطَآءً غَيْرَ مَجْذُوذٍ]

(a gift without an end.) (11:108)

[لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ]

(for them is a reward that will never come to an end.) (84:25).

**...Why wives? Is it mentioning to like all believers or only to the Prophets that were mentioned before that verse? If so then why wives ?**

THis is the reward of the pious servants of Allah swt, May Allah swt make us among them.

**And can you tell me whats the deal with the 72 virgins thing?

another question

16:31 Gardens of Eternity which they will enter: beneath them flow (pleasant) rivers: they will have therein all that they wish: thus doth Allah reward the righteous,- Quran

25:16 "For them there will be therein all that they wish for: they will dwell (there) for aye: A promise to be prayed for from thy Lord." Quran

Brother if you read the above two verses you see that Allah swt is promising the the righteous ( whether male or female) that they will get all that they wish . I think this promise is very clear........ AlhamduliAllah the great issue is how to be among the the righteous.

and Allah knows better

thank you a_stranger but you didnt really answer my question. I asked why wives? What will happen to your other wife that you married in the Before Life?

To be honest I dont really like that part of description of Heaven regarding wives.

its up to your wife's world test and how much you do love her/him.If she/he dosent deserve Paradise its not but other you will be together with who are important for you there, not just wife.
Our dear Prophet (sav) said "you will be named with your own names and your father's names in the Day of Judgment,so choose beautiful names" we can't choose our names He(sav) suggest our parents and for your kids.( Ebu Davud, Edeb 69)
dear Prophet (sav) again said in Hadith "A person will be there with who she/he love"

One day some Sahabi were too sad and crying,Then dear Prophet (sav) asked "why you all look sad" they answered " Ey Rasul of Allah,we can't endure to leave you in the world when we die, what we will do without You (sav)" after that Allah (c.c) sent Nisa Surah "who obey Allah (c.c) and Allah's Prophet (sav) then that People will be with who Allah (c.c) blessed them (Prophets,Saddik people,Shaidts and beautiful Muslims" They are very beautiful friends there"

wa 'alaikumus salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh (and to thee peace, development and safe from guile be upon who follow the guidance and blessings from Allah and His mercy be upon you).

Bismillaahi aktubu,

The wifes will not have any jealousy at all. This is written in Al Hadits.

At least will have 2 more wifes said Hadits, such as in Hadiil Arwah by Ibnul Qayyim Al Jauziyyah.

Hadits about 72, that's the one I've seen as Dha'if. The right Hadits is telling about Syafa'at (intercession by Allah's pemission, in the hereafter) to 72 people. Could be find in Hadits about Khusnul Khatimah.

Assalaamu manit taba’al huda (May peace, development and safe from guile be upon who follow the guidance).

Assalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh (May peace, development and safe from guile be upon who follow the guidance and blessings from Allah and His mercy be upon you).

Your wife wont feel any jealousy ? That sounds a bit disturbing doesnt it ?

Your post seems to be the best one so far. But what does the Naming and Sahabi Hadiths have to do with the subject. The way I see it is that you went off topic abit.

Seeking Allah's Love
Assalamualaikum

First of all, sorry for my bad english...

What I understand from this verse and other verses that similar to this is that Allah wants us to be able to imagine the greatness of the paradise which He prepared for the righteous believers with what we are able to imagine. Of course Allah have much more blessings that He has provided there that we cudn't imagine its greatness so Allah chooses some of these rewards for us to be able to imagine it. The same for the transgessors Allah chooses the punishments that we are able to understand like the fire that burns more than skin, also for us to imagine it and to prepare ourselves to avoid it.

And also, what Allah has promised is surely going to happen, Allah will not break His promises.

Seeking Allah's Love
For me
this also means that Allah wants us to know that having a perfect wife is a beautiful blessing that everyone in this world would dream for.

No i didnt go off topic,These 2 sayings together that is joint Hadits. His (sav) meant we will be remembering with our family names and own names.Because some people were thinking we will not remember anyone from world. Its a prove that we will remember everything.

<<Your wife wont feel any jealousy ? That sounds a bit disturbing doesnt it ?>>

In Janna hearts will be different:

7:43 And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury;- beneath them will be rivers flowing;- and they shall say: "Praise be to Allah, who hath guided us to this (felicity): never could we have found guidance, had it not been for the guidance of Allah. indeed it was the truth, that the apostles of our Lord brought unto us." And they shall hear the cry: "Behold! the garden before you! Ye have been made its inheritors, for your deeds (of righteousness)." Quran

15:47 And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury: (they will be) brothers (joyfully) facing each other on thrones (of dignity).
Quran

Still for those who don`t want more wifes the verse is clear:

39:34 They shall have all that they wish for, in the presence of their Lord: such is the reward of those who do good: Quran

The most important thing is that we work for Janna and help our families to do good deeds to step there.

More I think that Allah swt knows the nature of men and most of them seek more than one wife : as we see around that most men may betray their wifes in haram ...In Janna they will get what they want but lawfull but in this life they should reject Haram.

I think that the joy in the heart of people of Janna by seeing their creator and noble prophets will full their hearts in a way no holes for jealousy or hate.

And Allah knows best :astag:
