Just a reminder.

It was narrated that ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him)said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) turned to us and said: “O Muhaajireen, there are five things with which you will be tested, and I seek refuge with Allaah lest you live to see them: Immorality never appears among a people to such an extent that they commit it openly, but plagues and diseases that were never known among the predecessors will spread among them. They do not cheat in weights and measures but they will be stricken with famine, severe calamity and the oppression of their rulers. They do not withhold the zakaah of their wealth, but rain will be withheld from the sky and were it not for the animals no rain would fall on them. They do not break their covenant with Allaah and His Messenger, but Allaah will enable their enemies to overpower them and take some of what is in their hands. Unless their leaders rule according to the Book of Allaah and follow the guidance of Allaah, Allaah will cause them to fight one another.” Narrated by Ibn Majaah (4019) and classed as hasan by al-Albaani.

:lol: I was about to post sort of the same thing thanx brother But in my school no kid has eaten a pork sandwich and just ate chicken Subuhanna ALLAH truly the quran is the miracle of Muhammad P.B.U.H and it is truly the word of Allah just 1 question is the swine seriously coming from pigs cause my teachers are saying it doesnt.

You don't catch the flu from EATING pork; it is an airborne illness, which is why it has the potential to be so dangerous in this age of air travel and transcontinental flights. Just like the bird flu - the name is from the fact that it originated from something from the animal - you didn't have to eat the birds to get bird flu; you don't have to eat pork to get swine flu.

great point q8penpals, but it does not discard the potential of getting the flu by eating it either. Anyway that's not how people are getting the flu, it is by contact with sick pig and then from person to person. i hope the cases of this illness do not multiply anymore, we have lost many people.

I just wanted to point out that, yes, Muslims can get swine flu even if they don't eat pork (I was reading on another site, and the Muslims were basically saying the disease was from God to kill the Christians because they eat pork). If that were true, then Muslims and Jews (all of those who practice properly) would be at no risk. BUT since a person could stand next to a pig farmer in a grocery store, and then that person gets on a plane for vacation and you sit next to them on the plane - well, there is the possibility that you are now at risk.

So, there may be a way to get it by eating pork - I won't discount that 100%, BUT it is PRIMARILY an airborne illness.
