Assalamualaikum akhi.

one of the fatwa from islamweb:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad , is His slave and Messenger.

As far as we know, there is no authentic narration from the Prophet , that precisely prohibits talking or reciting the Quran when the Athaan is being called. However, we are ordered in the Sunnah to repeat the words of the Athaan after the Mu’aththin (the person calling the Athaan) as we mentioned in Fatwa 92196.

There is no doubt that talking or reciting the Quran when the Athaan is being called makes it impossible to revive the Sunnah of repeating the words of the Athaan. There is no doubt also that repeating the words of the Athaan when one hears it [Athaan] comes in priority over reciting the Quran because repeating the words of the Athaan is a timed act of worship that Allaah legislated when one hears it. Reciting the Quran at this precise time preoccupies one with another act of worship instead of being preoccupied by the legislated act of worship.

Talking or reading Quran during Athaan

is there any hadith stating people should not talk while the adhaan is being said?

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The Sunnah is that a Muslim should listen to the 'Aathaan (call to the prayer) attentively and repeat it after the person calling it, and should not talk or occupy himself with something else, even if it is the mention of Allaah or reciting the Quran. This is derived from the texts that order us to repeat the 'Aathaan, yet we have not come across any specific narration which prohibits talking while the 'Aathaan is being called.

Allaah Knows best.

The Messenger (may Allah praise him) said:

"A du'a between athaan and the iqamah is not refused, so supplicate during that time." [Ibn Khuzaymah, Ibn Hibban]

The Messenger (may Allah praise him) said:

"Two kinds of du'a are not rejected - or rarely are they rejected - du'a at the time of the call for prayer, and du'a at the time of fighting when the warriors are on the battlefield." [Abu Dawud]

As Salam Alykom :)

I think even it might not be bad, the thing is that while we would keep silent and repeating the words- it would show the respect. So do from woman side - cover her hair of showing respect, by that - as mentioned above- by stop all works what you doing. Respect and love for ALLAH :hearts:
