Tawheed is such an important concept in order to be a muslim. In fact it distinguishes whether or not you are a muslim.
Our actions as muslims today, do they reflect our conviction of tawheed? Those of the past have shown us how to act with the knowledge. For they were closer to the rasool's time peace be upon him and they went with reliance on Allah swt, and acted with the tawheed to fullfill what Allah has informed us in the Quran. They also acted on the teachings of the prophet peace be up him.
This video by Abdullah Quick very briefly discusses some of the accomplishments of muslims of the past and how today the facts are starting to be revived by historians and truth seekers. For they, may Allah be pleased with them, took tawheed to heart. He also reveals the names of many places today actually are from muslims of the past. Nice watch about 13 minutes.

There are many historical writing by muslims that are more informative. they are in Arabic though. And I respect the fact that this brother, a revert, has taken his time to explain his search and findings. He challenged his US school teachers about the many lies they teach about history.
may Allah increase for us knowledge that is most beneficial.
