Asslamo Allaikum,

When I was in Chicago an African-American brother told me this story about his daughter; she was a practising Muslimah, married with 3 kids when I met her!

Brother was in the Nation-Of-Islam in the 1960’s and was heavy into his White-hatred and stuff. One day he went to K-Mart with his daughter (sister in question) and a old white lady said, “O! What a cute little girl, look at your little ponytail, how cute etc. etc.” Here have a candy!

Daughter took the candy and said, “Thank you Devil”

Brother told me that this was the first time he really thought that there is something wrong in what he believes in! & he thought of this single incident as the turning point of his life towards Islam.

I wonder how the Nazis overtook Germany. Once you hear things a certain number of times, sometimes you start to believe it. Regardless of whether it is true... or not.

I think in one way or another, each of us has slightly 'racist' ideas. I mean not in a bad way, but we categorize one race as such and such, even if it be just in our heads. It's how we view people, what we get from first impressions, our own judgements. They can be wrong plenty of times sure, and we shouldn't act out or treat someone differently accourding to how we feel, but i'm sure that everyone's had it...

am i going around in circles here?

I said, "Simple! I am Muslim, they are Not"

P.S: I didn't put the story to promote Nation of Islam, I was just making a point as to how Allah (SWT) can sometimes change the hearts/minds of people over simple incidents.

Its a story about 2 things brother:

1) Little children are innocent and simply absorb and act
2) Allah (SWT) can change the hearts/minds of people using small incidents

Yep! Nation-Of-Islam are NOT Muslims; I have spent many years around them in CA, VA & IL

I think its about injustice. Even with the NOI, the reason why its so successfull is because they manage to use the injustice of slavery against balcks to justify everything backward about them. The nazis did the same, it was 'injustice for the German nation' and 'regaining German pride' and a general aura of despair which brought Hitler to power. same with blacks in america.

But Malcolm X saw sense, elijah mohammad once said he knew Malcolm would one day leave the NOI because he would see right through the lot of them...one of the only things he got right in his entire life, and the NOI conspired with the CIA to kill him
