The Prayer In The Last Third Of The Night

I've been told that's the one in which duas have the greatest chance of being answered. But... how is it performed?

I just did a normal 4 rakah salat and made my duas during the sujud, as that's what I recall someone telling me to make them. Did I get that bit right, at least?

that's so suppose to be when you're closest to Allah, during sujud. and i have also heard during sujud is one of the best times to have ur dua to accepted by Allah. someone coorect me if i'm wrong. Allahu 'alam.

the prophet peace be up on him use to do pray 2 rakkah and then 2 rakkah ...

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar :

A man said, "O Allah's Apostle! How is the prayer of the night?" He said, "Two Rakat followed by two Rakat and so on, and when you apprehend the approaching dawn, offer one Raka as Witr."
